Topic: RE: Fat girl brain...
I know what you are talking about, I have the same problem. When I tell people that I really can't "see" the difference yet they look at me like I'm crazy. I also forget that I don't look the same anymore and when I see a man "checking" me out, I wonder why, then I remember that I don't look the same, but I certainly still feel the same insecure person that I was before the surgery.
Topic: Fat girl brain...

Topic: RE: Testing Testing...Is this thing on???
I was so glad to finally read this thread! I've been feeling like I was lagging behind all of the "big losers" and kind of wondering if I was just going to have to settle for a good, but relatively moderate weight loss.
Now I see that I'm right on track with many of my fellow April friends and that makes me hopeful!
Thanks for keepin' it real, guys!

Hello Heather, join the gang! Like I just posted on Kristies post right after yours. For give me, I cut and pasted my post to her below:
I was on a plateau for the past 2 weeks and finaly I went to GNC last Monday got some new protein bars and upped my protein from 60 grams per day to 80 -100 per day since Monday and I have lost 5 pounds since last Sunday. I was getting worried. So I asked around on a couple other message boards what people said to do was up the protein and water and change your exercise, so I upped my protein like I said, then I upped my water to roughly 100 ozes per day. Its hard to do... Then I added swimming to the 1/2 mile walk per day. I only go swimming twice a week. But I am going to start walking at the local shopping mall so I can get out of the weather this winter.
Take care,
Tom

Topic: RE: Celebrex okay?
Hello Linda,
I am going to start by saying that I am not a doctor, and these are just my opinion and what I have heard.
My surgeon told me that Celebrex is a no no.... It can cause ulcers in the pouch and you don't want that. But Tylenol is acceptable for pain releif.
I was taking Celebrex 200 mgs x 2 per day, before my WLS. But since I have lost 130 lbs in the last 5 and half monthes. the only thing I take for my knee and hips pain is Gluclosamine w/ MSM in a liquid form once a day and a occasional Tylenol. I feel so much better.

Topic: RE: PayDay Pro Bars
I found a protein bar that is supposed to taste just like the PayDay. bariatriceating.com has them.
Rock & Roll Protein Nut Bars
290 cals.
16g fat
25 carbs
21 protein
2g sugar
I'm gonna give it a try and see if I like them.

Lynda, I know how you feel I went from Super Obese to Morbidly Obese. From 345 lbs to 244lbs. Blows your mind doesn't it. I am just happy to pass the 100 lb loss. Keep up the good loss and before you know it you will be slim. I feel slim now and I am so far from it!!!! I hate when 100 lb people tell me " YOU ARE ALMOST MY SIZE" Yeah right !!! I am still proud of myself and so much healthier then I was 6 months ago. See you lighter. Joanne
