Topic: Clothing size question
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue as me. I have lost 78 pounds so far, but my pants and shirt size has only gone from a 34 to 30. Whats up with that? Thanks! Brenda

Carol, Congradulations. I know the good feeling. I thought I would never get there myself but I made it too. Make sure you send your email to OH to get it on your profile. See you lighter. Joanne

Topic: RE: Exersize?
Hi Lora! I go to the Y and take their free classes for members. I do Core Strength and Flexibility, RAPS (which is an ab class) and Body Toning. Last month I did cycling (spinning) and salsa/hiphop. My Y is brand new, and I pay $75 a month for my whole family to go. An individual membership is $50 a month. My surgeon also told me the Y here offers a discount to bariatric patients,( my rate isn't discounted at all) so call your local Y and see if they offer something like that, too. They won't turn ppl away so talk over with them to pay what you can afford, and get in there and have a great work out! Good luck! Also, a nice long walk at a good pace does wonders for you, too, and that's free! See if there are any support groups in your area that may have others like you who want to get together and exercise together! I know members of my support group who live near each other walk together! Pam

While I agree that alot of people seem to not know what to expect getting into all this, I also have to agree that this site is for those of us that need a safe place to ask and get answered the questions that only WLS people can. I researched my WLS extensively, and as a nurse I thought I had all the answers...BOY WAS I WRONG. Those of you who said you dont know til youve been through it are right. I went to counselling, and nutrition classes, but I was not prepared for the mental changes that occurred post op. I am now a member of the century club and proud of it, but I did my fair share of moaning too. It was only through this site that I found the tools and support to get through. 345/244/170 Carol
