Hi Janice--Thanks for asking about all of us and BIG congratulations to you on being in ONEderland!!! Isn't is amazing to see a new first number on the scales?? I am 5'5 and started at 238...a 'lightweight' by some standards, but not for my knees and ankles. If I stood all day for work, I would be crawling or crutches the next couple of days. I wore 22's and 20's. My weight now is 177, for 61 pounds gone. I am wearing 14 pants and 12-12 tops. I am blessed to have had a perfectly normal blood work-up and bone density scan two weeks ago. Only thing that doesn't agree is pork and sugar/fat combo--if I do that I am gaggy nauseous but not throwing up. I gave into cravings for caffeine past 10 days (sweetened coffee and sodas) and GAINED BACK 1/2 pound. I suggest that we all face the ugly truth that weight gain CAN happen. It certainly doesn't have to, but the choice is up to me with every bite or sip I place in my big ole mouth!! I remind myself every day that the bypass is a tool and I am the one who has to pick it up and use it wisely. Best of luck and big congrats to all of us April-ers!!! Hugs--Sunny

Today is 10/14/2005 and although I still have another week till my 6 month anniversary, here's my update: I've gone from 255 pounds down to 172, from a size 20 pants and 22-24 tops to size 12 pants and size L tops. I have my post-op appointment in early November and will probably be taken off my high blood pressure pill. I have more energy than I've had since high school, I'm 35. Although my hair is falling out, I'm confident it'll grow back. THis procedure is the single best thing I've ever done for myself...

Brenda--Prayers are going up for you and your hubby. I used to work at a credit union and it does make a difference WHY you get into financial situations. You can put a statement in your credit report about a medical problem (only as specific as you want to be) that required surgery and for you to be off work. Lenders will take that into consideration when they see late payments, really! Meanwhile, you have improved health and a supportive husband. Work from those two things and I know you'll come out okay!! HUGS to you--Sunny

I had one too! One of the office workers in another department came up to me yesterday (she knows I has WLS and asks all the time how I'm doing) and said, "Laura, you look fantastic, but those baggy khakis have got to go, you need to start wearing tighter clothes!" Now I've always worn baggy tops, even when I was thin (all those years ago) but to have someone tell me I needed to show off was an amazing experience. Happy Friday to all!! L*

Linda, you've been such a help...I had a horrible food day yesterday, but I started today off right and I refuse to get off track. I'm taking it one day at a time. I wish you lived closer so I could hug you!!! But know this...you have inspired a "loser"!!!

It has slowed because you have started building muscle. Shake up your routine.. go liquid protien a day..lots of water.. Cardio then muscle building.. don't stop what you are doing just mix it up.. I have heard it helps... Personally today starts my back to the beginning shake up..Re focus and make needed adjustments Linda

Topic: Wow moment
Well, I too had a wow moment. I was sitting on the couch indian style and my 14 year old came in the living room and sort of screamed "Mom when did you start sitting like that." I was like what? And looked down and said oh that. Ha ha ha..... I didn't really realize I had sit like that. Also Now I have started going to the gym. I am an exercise holic. They actually told me the other day to stop, that I couldn't do anything else. LOL.... never had that problem before. But my weight loss has slowed drastically so I hope I can do something to help me loose the rest of the 75 pounds I need to loose. Have a great night Christy
