Topic: RE: FINALLY! BROKE THAT $#%^ Platue....
A 119lbs is awesome!!! You know what I've noticed? When you get to the last number before a change it takes FOREVER to lose it and I'm not sure why. 300 hung around for awhile before it gave up and slipped into the 290's....then again 250 hung around for awhile....recently it was 230...it hung around for almost 2 weeks! As of this week I'm 225 and I know when I get down to 200 it will probably dig in and hang on before letting me slip into ONEderland! I've gone from 333 down to 225 and from a very tight 28 to about a 16/18 depending on the cut so I'm not complaining though.

please dont get discouraged. i know its hard when you hit that plataue and dont seem to lose, but one day soon, you will get on that scale and it will have dropped and you will be surprised. I have already lost a lot of weight, but still have a long way to go to get to goal (98 more lbs) but i look at this as a gift, and i tell myself that even if i were to not lose another single lb (god forbid...lol) i would be happy and be much healthier for having had the surgery done. it is more weight than i have lost in my entire lifetime, and i am at a place in my life where i havent been in over 15 years. just remember that you are still at a changing point in your life, and when its time, it will happen for you. losing 85lbs in nothing to sneeze at. be greatful for what youve lost so far, dont beat yourself up about the plataues and it will happen for you. have faith. also, try changing things up a little. try to up your water intake, and find other sources of protein and dietary needs. your body just needs a little bit of a jolt and those lbs will come flying off again. Keep up the great work, and know that there is support here if and whenever you need it. look to the site for your guidance. Congrats on what youve lost so far and keep up the good work.

Topic: Im almost obese
I know that sounds funny, but i was in the high range of the super morbidly obese (63+) when i began my journey 6 months ago, and i am now at a 44 bmi. i have lost a total of 122lbs as of this morning, and am feeling for the most part pretty good.
I have had several wow moments including last week we took our 3 yr old daughter to see finding nemo on ice, and my butt fit into the seats without bulging over.

i am down several clothing sizes, and much more active than i was prior to surgery. i have had difficulties with throwing up, and with the constipation like everyone else, but so far not having an issue with the hair loss (fingers crossed and knocking on wood).
I am so proud of having had the surgery done, and greatful to everyone on the oh site for their support during this trying journey. for those out there that think that by having the surgery done we took the easy way out
..well they can shove it where the sun dont shine because there was nothing easy about this whole thing. i think they have it easy because they have never had to deal with the things we deal with. to everyone out there, i am proud of you for your loss thus far,

dont get discouraged if you havent lost alot, because each lb you lose is one lb healthier and towards your goal. thank you all again for your support.

Me too. I've been gaining and losing the same four pounds for two months. I've been having "what the hell" pity parties with sugar and stupidity.
I don't feel like a failure as I have lost 65% (80-84 pounds depending on what day it is) of my excess weight but I do freak myself out thinking "this is it". I want to lose 40 more pounds to get to my "ideal" body weight but I'm discouraged, thinking it's not going to happen for me.
Many of us seem to be going through the same thing. There must be a 6-7 month curse or something.

I really understand what you are going through. I think we all had different expectations. I wanted to be down 100 pds by now headed toward my 7th month and it seems 83-85 has found me and doesn't want me to go. I am going to cut back on Curves and do LEslis Sansone walk- diet tape to see would a little cardio do the trick. I'll let you know.
Smooches,
Jaclyn

Everyone hits those slumps. Don't despair. Try shaking up your routine a little bit. Getting in a food rut seems to be my problem. When I hit a slump, I change around my eating patterns and foods, so far this has worked for me. It also encourages me to try new sources of protein and also look for them.
Have you tried beef or turkey jerkey - great source of protein in only 1 ounce.
Remember to rejoice the 85 pounds that you have already lost.

I am right there with you!!! I have lost 83 pounds and that is it, it fluctuates up and down about 3 pounds but I can't get lower. I think our bodies are "catching up" and of course the weight loss is slowing down. I am going to try the plateau buster diet starting Monday and up my exercise to see if I can get the scales to move. I am so close to onerland I can taste it but I just can't get there!!!
Good Luck to you, keep us posted on your progress
