Topic: RE: Come on out April Babies!
Everyone has such positive things happen to them. So now I will voice the opposite side of this surgery...........weight gain. I have gained over 20 pounds and having an awful hard time getting it off. I never even made goal, losing only 90 pounds to start and stalled at 8 months out and that was it until my gain. I know i probably eat too many carbs a day, a small bagel, a small tortilla, maybe a slice a bread. The problem is that I still want to eat such things, that my pouch hasn't restricted me at all. I do eat less than what I used to before WLS, but any kind of food agrees with me, meats, chicken, fats, sugars, and so my dilemma goes on. My bf moved in with me in November and that started me on the road to failure, then the holidays, my failure continued. Last month I took hold of myself and started walking maybe 2 miles a day, maybe only 1 1/2 miles, but almost every day, and going to the gym and doing the weights like 3-4 times a week. The fact that I haven't been working helps me get to the gym and do all that walking. But again my weight is where it is at. I feel like I am absorbing ALL the nutrients which means all the calories I eat and I am not restrictive at all. I plan to see my surgeon within the next couple of weeks and go over ideas. I feel like such a failure. I wasn't even going to post here any longer for fear of reprisal. So bring it on.

It's been two years this April 4th and I'm down 120 pounds and just love it. This is the best I've ever felt or looked since I was 16!! That was 42 years ago!!!! I don't think I've ever been a size six before, even though I know that's impossible. It's just that for all my life I have struggled with the weight and didn't act until I was 56.
Everyday is a WOW moment. Looking in the mirror is still an adjustment. I have been staying between 128 to 132 pounds. I weigh ever day to ensure that I do not gain. The food cravings are completely changed. I used to be a sugar addict, now I am not interested in sweets. It just doesn't taste the same.
Last September I developed an ulcer in my pouch. So now I take Protonix. That seems to make a big difference.
Also, I have been able to reduce my medication to only two pills a day. This is wonderful!!
The weight loss has really made a big improvement on my arthritus pain. It is remarkable was 120 pounds can make.
So, that's my update for this anniversary.

Thank You, Laura
I am very pleased with my loss, even if it is slow, and I am not up where other's are I feel better, I guess I look better
, and Im just concentrating on getting in more protein every day, like I am suppose to do, and taking it day by day. If I never loose another ounce, this surgery was still the best thing Ive ever done. I only wish I would have had it years ago. Have a wonderful day!

Congrats on your continued weight loss. I lost about 150-170...vary a lot in my weight. I would think you'd be happy to keep going toward your goal.
Topic: RE: Power Crunch Bars?
The funny part is I went in there looking for the "Oh Yeah" wafer bars, which are supposed to be better than the Power crunch bars, from what Ive heard. I found the snicker type "Oh yeah" bars but I wanted the wafer type and lo and behold, I found Power Crunch at GNC! I plan to order some from bariatriceating.com. Im waiting formy sampler protien powder to arrive. It will be here, tomorrow
I also found a organic protien bar with 4 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protien at my local health food store. Its by Natures Path and I bought the orange chocolate. They were on sale for 99 cents so I tought i would try em. They are fabulous! Not much "organic" healthy stuff has a good taste but those do.
Check out the ready to drink protien drinks at GNC. I found the RTD 40, with 40 grams of protien in 15 ounces on sale for 1.69. I bought 6 of them for less than 3.00. I dont think the girl rang it up right and i mentioned it but she insisted it was 2.98 or whatever it was so I didnt argue with her. i think she gave me an additional 20 percent off the sale price, whatever, it was a bargain.

I'm gonna have to check out our local GNC! I can't remember what I paid for them last time I ordered them, but it's worth at least checking GNC out. I ordered mine originally from bariatriceating.com. Thanks!

Nancy,
I walked into our local GNC and guess what I found? Yep, power crunch bars! They only carried the new flavors so I tried one of each. Peanut Butter has to be my favorite! Cinnamon runs second but they are so expensive there, I will be looking for a online source to purchase. You were right! These are good, and very easy to chew!

WOW
Never in my wildest dreams would I think, this far out I would still loose. Im not trying to loose, although I still have about 40 pounds to get to goal. My surgeon has never given me a goal weight to strive to reach. I will ask him about this next month, on my check up.
The only thing I have changed, is to keep a protien journal. I am not getting in adequate protien so I keep a journal to make sure I get in 100 grams or more per day, and I make sure I get in at least 1.5 liters of water, preferably more if I can get it in. I weighed last night and have lost 4 more pounds, Im now at 198
Grand total lost=106#'s

Topic: RE: N G my surgery twin, where are you!
Morning my friend!
I never thought I would ever see a 16 again, in my lifetime so for me, it is a blessing. If I never loose another pound its still a blessing to me. I no longer take meds, so I save $$$ there. Im in better health overall, feel better, have more energy and best of all can spend quality time with my grandsons and create memories!
The RTD 51 for me, I will have to order online. No where around here carries it. Ive been goggling wholesale prices for it and have it narrowed down to 2 companies. For now, I found "Muscle Milk" at Walgreens. 7.99 for 4 ready to drink. Still high but I can tolerate this. The Mocha Java is good since Im a coffee lover and the milk chocolate is good. It has 22 grams of protien per serving, 4 grams of sugar, I think. I know Target sells this in the big powder container but I just prefer the ready to drink versions.
I noticed when I increased the protien, and increased the water the pounds started coming off again. Have you tried that? With my job, Im on my feet for 8 hours, and I use the stairs instead of the elevater, (another thing I can do now, I couldnt before) so the stair climbing may have something to do with it too. I want a Gazelle but will have to wait a bit longer for one.
I will let ya know about the protien when I find the cheapest supplier.
