Hey Lynn I just responded to somebody else with the same problem. Grazing is so easy to do. I have started FIT day so I am concious of what is going in my mouth. Now if I can be honest with myself about it. Lynn

Hi Melody Can we support each other? I will be 2 years on April 25. I started at 315 and made it down to 217 and now I am sitting at 230 for about a year now. I have just started FIT DAY to see where I am screwing up. Which I know is the carbs. I can't do sugar anymore but I can eat a baked chip. Problem is I can eat all day...grazing is so easy. I really feel like I have let myself down by not getting to goal. I wasn't taking my vitamins or calcium so I have started doing that. I am bad abou****er also. I get so bad my feet cramp and I can tell I am dehydrated. So if you want a buddy here I am in the same situation you are in. I want to just get below 200 and I would feel like I have accomplished something. Lynn

Topic: Two Years - More Weight 2 Go!
Today is my 2nd surgaversary... At 5'6", I started at 331#, and currently weigh 228#. I went down to 216# after my Mom's death a year ago, but basically I've stayed the same for a year and a half. BUT - that's actually a success - I STAYED THE SAME! After a year of horrible stuff - my mother dying, my son being a rotten teenager and the job from HELL,I ACTUALLY DID'NT GAIN IT ALL BACK... I have read about the plateau buster diet, can anyone direct me to info on that? I know I also need to drink more water. I am TERRIBLE about drinking enough water. I did exercise, but stopped a few months ago so I need to get back to that, too. I take my supplements religiously, and attend support group regularly. I wish there was someone in the support group who was struggling like me, but they are all either superstars, just post-ops or people waiting for surgery. I never hear about people who gain weight back and I am REALLY curious about that... I have a close friend who is over a 15 months post-op. She is still losing weight, never eats protein, never exercises, never goes to support group, won't go on the internet, never takes iron or calcium. She justs says that she is better at weight loss than me....I can't believe that! I think I am a success but I want to go ALL THE WAY and lose the rest... Thanks for reading.

Tomorrow is my 2 year anniversary and I am starting to notice a small gain of about 4 lbs. I know what I am doing wrong. I am grazing every evening. Once I get home from work I am just terrible. I am very good at work. I am not exercising and I know I'm not drinking enough water. I go to my 2 year check up today and I really need a kick in the but. I am still not doing anything with sugar, but I seemed to crave carbs. Do you have any suggestions or just a kick in the but for me? Thanks, Lynn

Hi Laura Today 4/4/07 is my 2 year anniversary too! Congratulations on your progress! I must say, I know your journey has not been easy with 2 major WLS's in the past 5 years. You have done GREAT! I have not had any complications, whatsoever to date. I am staying positive, I will have none but you never know. I can only suggest you will probably get more advise on this subject if you post this on the main board. Not many people find their way back here, but I am hopeful many will. From time to time, my pouch burns. Feels like when I used to have GERD. I take 150mg of Zantac and it stops it. I dont know if I may have an ulcer or what it could be but so far it is only sporadic at best, and not an everyday thing, if it worsens or happens daily I will call my surgeon. Let us know what you find out and post this on the main board too. Tooter or Amy may know more about this subject. ES

It's after midnight and I just realized today is my 2 year anniversary from my conversion from Lap Band to Roux-en-Y. I've lost 92# in the past 5 years between the two surgeries. I'm much healthier than I was but still working on losing 50 more. Has anyone had complications this far out that you know of? I'm suddenly having problems with stomach cramping to the point that I can't eat lunch or exercise with my heart rate above 100. I went to a GI doc the other day and he is going to scope me on the 18th to be sure it isn't ischemia (lack of bloodflow) at the anastomosis site. At first, I thought it was just stress because it was only bothering me at work but now it's starting to feel like when I had the band and my esophagus dilated. I googled it is fairly common to have problems with ischemia 2 years after surgery which I don't remember ever reading before. Anyone know anyone who had it and what they did for it?

Hi Armilda! My name is Sandy. Nice to meet you! Im so sorry your husband has been so sick, how is he doing now? Im with you, I WISH I would have had this done YEARS ago and not at the age of 46. But at the age of 48, life for me anyway, is just starting! I can play with my grandsons with ease, take them to the fairs and carnivals and even fit into the kiddie rides! WOO HOO! We are all going to Disney this summer, and I cant wait! 140 pounds is AWESOME! Pat yourself on the back! You deserve it. Hope your husband is better, I will keep you and your family in my prayers! Hugs, Sandy

Hello Evening Star My Name is Armilda and I had my surgery on April the 11th of 2005 two days before yours and I've done great with mine in the last 2 years.I wish I had of done it sooner.I can now play with my children and things I couldn't do before. In October of last year my husband got dianosed with lukemia and if I had still been as big as I was I don't know what I would have done.I wouldn't have been able to have taken care of him if it wasn't for the surgery.I have lost a total of 140 pounds altogether now and I feel and look great.Well thats my opinion on the looking great lol

WOW, what a marvelous job! Only 3 pounds to goal! Pat yourself on the back! You deserve it. I have no desire for plastics at this point either. IF I do decide to have it, my first choice is a mini face lift, then we will worry about a breast lift and tummy tuck...LOL... I just can not stand the little fine lines at this point and the weight loss has made my neck sag somewhat. Its not really noticeable to anyone else but me, and I just cant tolerate it much longer. Keep up the good work! check in when you can. I just hang out here, hoping my WLS buddies will come back and bring this board to life again! Have a great day! ES
