First of all, Linda, welcome to the April 2005 group and congrats on your decision to join us. My surgeon recommends ProComplex protein shake which can be purchased at GNC. It comes in chocolate, strawberry, vanilla and rocky road. I use my magic bullet to mix the powder with 1/3 banana, about 6 ounces of water and a few ice cubes. It is delish, and it has 55g of protein. I have also mixed it in a shaker with jus****er and it is still good. The other shake that I sometimes use comes in a can from Trader Joes. It is called "worldwide" and packs 35g of protein. While it doesn't taste as good to me as the ProComplex mix, it is easy and good when I'm in a hurry. I keep several cans in the fridge so I can grab and run. Judy

This is Linda S., I started this morning at 220 lbs, want to lose 50 more, started at 440 had my RNY Jan 2003 have been at a standstill for a while. My problem is not eating enough protein. This morning started with water, then had a fat free yogurt at 9:30, 12 another yogurt and sugarless jello and at 3 cream of chicken soup with skim milk, I am up to about 12 grams of protein. I need to get more protein powder and start the shakes, anyone know of a good protein shake that is packed with protein that I just need to add water too, that I can drink at work? or protein powder I can add to skim milk with flavorings. Jo, where do you get yours? It has been a while since used protein powder and the stuff I had I got on line and had expired. Was on the stepper today and did 250 steps, will do and 250 before the end of the day. Good luck everyone. Linda S.

I started at 339 and am down to 203... I had hoped to be under 200 by New Years but that didn't work. I am walking about 6 miles per day and doing aerobics 3 x per week but my scale hasn't moved a bit. Any suggestions? I'm drinking plenty of water and I allow myself to have some carbs now and again but I figure with all my exercising I should be able to get away with it (maybe not, huh?). Any ideas w/out having to cut the carbs out completely?

Well, it is Monday and the first day of the weight loss challenge, I weighed 220 lbs this morning and am 5 foot 6, have no idea what my goal weight should be but started at 420 lbs. Would like to lose 50 more but have been told by doctor and friends I will look terrible at 50 more lbs, so we will wait and see, I think I would be happy at 160 lbs. not sure. I started the morning with water, then had a cupe of fat free Yoplait yogurt, at noon another container of yoplait fat free yogurt and a container of sugar free jello am at a whooping 10 grams of protein so far, the soup I plan to eat for dinner is only 3grams of protein and I plan on using a cup of skim milk so that will add more protein, so I guess I better get some protein powder and supplement. Jo, what is yours called and where did you buy it, will pick some up during my lunch hour tomorrow. Thanks! Linda

Good early afternoon all. I started at 345, am down to 220 and need to go another 55 lbs. I had a protien shake for breakfast (Protien Delight pineapple Vanilla made with NF yogurt and water) YUMMY and split pea soup for lunch. I had a HB egg for a snack. I find I need to have veggies in my diet or I feel lethargic. I have steamed spinach or broccoli or a salad. I still have a problem with bread and pasta so I dont it it anyway. I sometimes put frozen peach slices in my morning smoothie for the vit C. (it also helps keep me regular) I have a hard time getting all the H2O in. I know that is a BIG problem for me. I HATE Crystal lite in all it forms. I do drink alot of decaf ice tea though. I even make Coolaid with splenda, not bad but still not a favorite. I will get back to my program basics and see how it goes. Good luck everybody. 345/220/170 Carol
