I'm starting to get a little concerned. For the last two month's my weight loss had slowed down tremendously. This week, I did what my surgeon suggested ate 5 small meals a day and BOOM the scale moved 1 lb a day. The excitement was just like when I first had surgery and the scale would move almost everyday. I lost a total of 6 lbs this week. What concern's me is, I am at my surgeon's goal. His goal was 150lbs however, my personal goal is 125/130 I'm short, 5'2". As of today I'm at 131 lbs. Has this happened to any of you April Baby's? Gina

Which part? I'm not at goal so not that. My weight loss is definitely at a standstill for the past 60 days. How many calories are you eating? What were you eating before? My surgeon never wants us to do anything but 3 meals a day, 4 oz. per meal. Sigh!

I guess I should have clarified. I got in a hurry. I meant has anyone got concerned they might lose too much weight? To be honest with you Deanna, I have never counted calories because my surgeon told me not too worry about it. In fact, (no bashing please) he told me I didn't have to count calories, fat, carbs, or anything. His protocol is alot different then other surgeons but, he is VERY strict in the beginning. Your on a 12 week liquid diet after WLS. He takes everything away and gradually adds it back into your diet. Right now I pretty much eat what I want. No sweets, nothing fried, and very little bread. A typical day for me before this week was: B-Protein Bar L-2-3 oz chicken and a green leafy vegetable D-chicken, fish, or some type of meat and green leafy vegetable This week: B-banana or yogurt Mid Morning-nuts L-2-3 oz chicken and green leafy vegetable Mid Afternoon-nuts or protein bar or protein shake D-chicken, fish or some type of meat and green leafy vegetable The only conclusion I can come too is that I ate a little more and it shocked my body so to speak which kicked in the weight loss!?! Maybe I wasn't eating enough before!?!

Ah, now I understand! No, I'm not worried about losing too much weight...I just love food too much for that. I could easily add in protein drinks and double my calories if need be. As for bashing, I would never do that! There are so many different ways of doing this, who is to say which is right? As long as you are happy, that is all that counts in my book. I wish my surgeon was more like yours! It's really hard to follow his rules. Last night I ate a steak and I didn't weigh it and I *know* it was more than 4 oz. I believe that others have said to add more food when they're at a standstill because sometimes your body is in starvation mode if you aren't eating enough. I certainly don't have that problem!

Gina, I'm glad you posted. Yes, I am also concerned about losing to much weight. I'm also 5'2" and am down to 121 lbs. My PCP told me I need to stop losing, but I told him I'm not dieting or exercising other than walking. When I asked him how to stop, he jokingly said to order a Big Mac once per week and go to Pizza Hut once a week. I had this concern prior to surgery and my surgeon told me that my body will stop losing when it's ready. Not to worry about losing to much. Well, now I'm beginning to worry. I'm actually looking forward to my visit with him next month so I can voice my concerns (again). Although, I'm very happy that I'm now in a size 4, but I'm already finding it difficult to get a good selection of 4 short/petite pants. I don't want to go any smaller, but I definately would like to maintain. Nancy
