Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
Good Morning Everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful week and an even better weekend. I haven¡¦t been on the boards much this past week because I started my new job, I¡¦m happy to say I like it.
It¡¦s Monday morning and it¡¦s time fess up! Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
My WOW moment(s) this week were:
Talking to a co-worker and mentioning something to her about wanting to lose 20 more lbs. She looked at me and said girl, you don¡¦t have 20 lbs to lose. That made my day!
Sunday I went over to my sister¡¦s house and my brother-in-law told my sister that I was finally the ¡§LITTLE¡¨ sister. (I am the youngest and always dreamed of actually being the little sister)
My two niece¡¦s told me I was small, and that my sister and I looked like twins.
So, what were your WOW moment(s)? We love to hear them, so come on out and brag about yourself.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
Gina
I haven't been on here in forever (damn weird password I can't figure out how to change!). I had a wow moment this weekend...
I went to a party where we were talking about dieting and weight loss. I didn't know anyone in the room at the time and none of them knew I had WLS. Weights came up and I realized that I wasn't the largest in the room. It was SO weird! I told one of them about my WLS and that I used to weigh 400lbs and she refused to believe me I had to drag one of my friends out on the balcony to confirm it. It was funny.
My other wow moment this week was realizing that I've lost 140lbs since my highest and that even though I'm still in plus sizes... I feel "normel" there was no social anxiety at the party mentioned above.
It's been a great 9 1/2 months!

Hi Gina, well I had a wow moment this week. I had to have surgery last Monday and I have to admit, although still large I didnt have that horrible feeling that the wardsmen were going to make rude comments about lifting me as I had in the past but the biggest excitement was that the hospital gown CLOSED down the back omg, such a small thing but so huge to me.

I have had a few myself -- my daughter and I went clothes shopping because she has lost a lot of inches since she started cheerleading last summer, so she has gotten too small for most of her pants (she was a size 15/16, now she's a 7/8!) While we were at Belk, they were having an awesome clearance sale (60% off the marked down price!) and I found the cutest pair of size 11 (juniors) jeans for only like $7. While in the dressing room with my daughter, she said "try those on, mom" so I did, and they actually FIT! They're still a little snug for my preference, since they're low-rise, but I bought them anyway, as we're only talking another inch before they fit the way they are made to fit! I am sitting here typing in my daughter's old pair of size 12's!
The next night after I bought those jeans, my daughter insisted I wear them to her basketball game, since all her friends would be there and she wanted to "show off my skinny mom"! At the game, every one of her friends came over to tell me how great I look and how happy they are for me. These are 12/13/14 year old kids. I was so proud, lol!
