question about carbs/protein/calories
I am asking this same question of my Dr.'s office tomorrow but asking you all today. How many carbs/protein/calories do you all intend to have each day and how closely are you able to reach that goal?
This challenge has been great for me in that I have lost the 2lbs from the holidays and gotten past my lowest of 175. But am I getting enough of each category in. It is so hard to eat when I get so much protein in because I don't feel hungry and I feel overly full all the time.
Just looking for opinions. Thanks all,
Tara

Hi Tara!
I've been having a problem with that too lately. I think my weight loss is slowing because I'm not getting in enough calories. I try to get in at least 60 grams of protein. I've been trying really hard for several weeks now and am managing to get in around 80-90 grams of protein. Like you say though, I'm just not hungry with all the protein. I've been eating hard candies this week just for some extra calories. I'm trying to get up and over 1000 calories per day but it just doesn't ever happen. The highest I've gotten in this past week was 916. I really think my body is in starvation mode and hanging on to what it's got and getting. I always try to keep my carbs less than my proteins. I don't have a certain number for them, just to keep my protein higher.

I have spoken to my nutritionist and she says the same thing. Ive only lost 1lb in the past month and she thinks I really need to up my calories with protein and up the exercise. This is all so confusing. If I had lost the 100 that i wanted to by Christmas , maybe I would be happier to try different things but i have only lost 57 so need to really keep at doing what ever I need to. Am a bit lost now too. I so prefer to just drink. I dont like the uncomfortable feeling of being full, but the nut says its better to get used to it.

Good mornin Tara,
I am glad I am not the only one that has this problem, It feels like I am stuffing myself everytime I eat anything that is bulky, but I have no problem with thick, creamy or liquids and I have found I am leaning to alot of that type of food. I eat alot of oatmeal, cream of wheat cereals and beans with meat or chicken in them. I just started back on the protein shakes too, since I did a tally of my carbs, protein and calories. I was only getting in about 60 to 70 grams of protein and 80-100 grams of carbs ( those darn crackers are so easy to INHALE! )so I have cut them out by half and going to use protein shakes to get in at least 90-100 grams of protein per day... I think my body is in the starvation mode too.. Because I have notice for the past month that my energy level after my hour and half work out is just about none.. I feel like I could nap afterwards... Some times I do take a little nap on the bus ride home..LOL! I have finaly gotten back down in the 360's again after gain 4 pounds over the Holiday's.
Keep us informed in what you nutionnist/dietain recomends.
Take care,
Tom
