Good morning Challengers: I hope all takes a minute to post and let us know how you are making out. I know it has been hard but Mondays results will be worth it. I slipped yesterday and had fish and stewed tomatoes for dinner but the rest of my day was good. I got in all my liquids and protein. Shakes really do help. I guess they are easy for me because I didn't do them from the start as all of you guys did. My Dr. does not beleive in them but the Dr. in his office that I have been seeing says it is ok. I only wish I did them from the start in April. I have learned so much in the last 9 months and continue to learn everyday. See all lighter. Joanne

Hi Joanne well I am about to go to bed on Saturday night and wanted to report. I started the day well, but had a birthday party lunch to go to, and it was a set menu, so tried to stick to high protein and ate the ham and cheese salad, and then had fruit with ice cream for dessert. Drank over 100ml of water when I came home to try to make up for it. Have a good one and I will try to stick to just the liquids tomorrow. hugs from down under to you all helen xxx ps I wish we hadnt said we would be totally honest lol.

Helen, Nobody said it would be easy. I think each on of us has messed up a little. I did last night myself but am back on track today. One more day to go!!!! WhaHoo!!!! Can't wait to see results !! Hey they say the truth will set you free. I think it helps to be honest for we all truely understand. We have been there and done that. Nothing you can say will shock us. Remember you are not alone here. We all have the same struggles. I went to a Cookie Kick Off for girl scouts today and brought one of each cookie home to my husband. I didn't even eat one and that was hard. Good luck tomorrow. See you lighter. Joanne

Hi all, Doing pretty good on the diet part. Although last night for diner my husband brought home Applebee's and I ate some of his dinner. I had steak, squash, salad and mash potatoes. of course I ate the steak first and then took about 1 to 2 bites of everything else. I was pleased when I got on the scale this morning as another lb. bit the dust. So far it is 6 lbs. gone since the beginning of the challenge! I did have a bit of a fright yesterday. I got up in the morning to wake my daughter up for school and after she was sitting on the side of her bed I turned to leave her room. Right at that moment I got extremely dizzy and nauseous and passed out. I came to very disoriented and wondering where I was. Went to the hospital because I already have a fractured back and wanted to make sure I didn't mess it up more. The ER was really quite the joke in diagnosing. The Dr. there said I had a stomach virus that it is going around. Well I was able to eat soup, pudding and then my dinner last night and didn't have any problems. I am going to call my Dr. on Monday to make sure everything is ok. In your opinion do you think that having sugar over the holidays and then going back to the high protein, low carb could have caused me to pass out like that? I have never passed out before and never want to again, that was the weirdest feeling I have ever experienced. Don't worry I will still check with my Dr. but wondered what you all thought. Tara, Please check with your Dr. and let me know what he says. As bad as we want to lose weight we still want to do it the healthy way. What was your calorie and protein intake? Please keep track of that. I am aiming for 1000 calories a day and not over 1200. See you lighter. Joanne

Joanne, You might be right. I just went back and totaled all my calories etc. Here is what I came up with Day 1 Carb 17, Protein 101, Calories 968 Day 2 Carb 11, Protein 93.5, Calories 935 Day 3 (same as day2) Day 4 Carbs 16, Protein 63, Calories 540 Day5 (fell in the morning. I was sleeping most of the day so the totals are lower for protein and calories on this day) Carbs 29.4, Protein 42.6, Calories 399 Day 6 haven't done totals for today I had noticed that the more protein and less carbs I ate the less hungry I was. I guess I not only need to watch what I eat but make sure I eat enough. WOW what a problem to have, I can do this though so don't worry. I am going to take my food logs with me to the Dr. and see if that is what made me pass out. I will let you know what he says. Take care, Tara surgery 4/18/05 289/171/150
