HELLO ~ I had my lap ryn on april 26 of 2005. Over 8 mths ago, I've lost 95-98 pds since then. I am thrilled, with all of my success. My bloodwork came back great, however, I still have no hunger, sometimes, once a month usually, I have cravings, but no hunger. At my 6mth anniversary, I posted about the same thing, I was told that any day now, I would start to feel hunger, well, I didnt, and still dont. I have a hard time getting my liquids in every day, and when it comes to eating, Its become a joke or a bet with my family, regarding how much I will really eat. Is there any one else who has this situation. Again, I am not complaining, I love my knew life, I just registered for school, after gradutating HS in 1985!! I am going to be a CMA, and am excited about that, would of never even thought about it 100 pounds ago, but if anyone has any suggestions or comments, please let me know. thanks to you all, and take care, julie martin 258/161/135

Hey Julie - You are lucky. My hunger did come back right after 6 months. I use water loading to control it whenever needed. Usually I eat strategically enough though that I am rarely hungry for that long if at all on most day. Usually evening is the hardest on the days I do heavier workouts that morning.

I have little to no hunger. Sometimes I get spurts of hunger where I feel like if I don't eat, then I'll eat myself... but that's pretty rare. Coming right out of surgery, and I'd say up to about 3 months out, I would get hungry all the time. But now, I can go a whole day and forget about eating if there's not something in front of me to tempt me. I make sure to try to eat lunch and dinner at least, but sometimes I get busy during the day and forget to eat lunch. I know I drive my friends crazy, because we'll be out running errands or something, and they're all like "lets stop for something to eat" every what seems like 5 minutes, and I'm just like... "well, lets do this first and then we'll get something"... and before I know it, I've put them off all day, and they're about to kill me and eat their own limbs. haha... oh well. Sucks to be them! ha!

Julie, You are not alone. Believe it or not, even at my heaviest, 263 lbs. (3/2004), I didn't have an appetite. I really believe in the 6 small meals a day plan. When I was my heaviest, I drank 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning and didn't eat anything until dinner. Not healthy, not good. Now my husband and I agree, eating 6 small meals is my largest hurdle. I am NEVER hungry and I had my surgery on 4.28.05. It's a daily battle to eat every day and I know that I have to change the way I think. I actually lost weight over the holidays because I'm around more food. I don't do the cooking for the family, never have, because I really hate doing it. It's a strange situation but my goal is to eat and take my vitamins on a daily basis. I started out at 5'2" 234 lbs. (day of surgery) and am now at 165. It's a daily battle. Take care. Susan

Julie, I had my surgery on the 25th of April and I am never ever hungry. I have never felt the "hunger" feeling since surgery and am glad for it! I can't eat much food either, 1 hard boiled egg and half a string cheese for lunch makes me very full. I guess it just depends on the person.... Kati 252/147/135-140ish (5'5")
