P/B Challenge Roll Call
This is Linda S., I started this morning at 220 lbs, want to lose 50 more, started at 440 had my RNY Jan 2003 have been at a standstill for a while. My problem is not eating enough protein. This morning started with water, then had a fat free yogurt at 9:30, 12 another yogurt and sugarless jello and at 3 cream of chicken soup with skim milk, I am up to about 12 grams of protein. I need to get more protein powder and start the shakes, anyone know of a good protein shake that is packed with protein that I just need to add water too, that I can drink at work? or protein powder I can add to skim milk with flavorings. Jo, where do you get yours? It has been a while since used protein powder and the stuff I had I got on line and had expired. Was on the stepper today and did 250 steps, will do and 250 before the end of the day. Good luck everyone.

First of all, Linda, welcome to the April 2005 group and congrats on your decision to join us. My surgeon recommends ProComplex protein shake which can be purchased at GNC. It comes in chocolate, strawberry, vanilla and rocky road. I use my magic bullet to mix the powder with 1/3 banana, about 6 ounces of water and a few ice cubes. It is delish, and it has 55g of protein. I have also mixed it in a shaker with jus****er and it is still good. The other shake that I sometimes use comes in a can from Trader Joes. It is called "worldwide" and packs 35g of protein. While it doesn't taste as good to me as the ProComplex mix, it is easy and good when I'm in a hurry. I keep several cans in the fridge so I can grab and run.

Hi Joanne
Well, yesterday I had 3 protein delite shakes and one bowl of cream of chicken soup, I had about 4 cups of coffee and 80ml of water. Didnt go out cos I kept running to the loo all day. I hope this helps cos Im so sick of myself and being fat, will post again tomorrow to see how we all go. Good luck to us all. I also invited someone else from another month to join us cos she has stalled for 2 months,. I figure the more the merrier.

I thought I might join you all in the challange. I am going back to the basics of high protien and low carbs. I have just added to many carbs back into my diet especially over the holidays. I started this journey at my highest weight of 289. My lowest weight was 175 and after the holidays it is 179. I know that doesn't sound like much but any upswing gets me moving to figure out what to do. The attitude that it isn't much is what got me into trouble before. I will be cheering for all of you as well as myself!
Here is what I had today. We will see if this will get rid of the extra 2 lbs and allows me to lose the last 25 lbs that I have to lose.
Breakfast:
Canadian Bacon
poached egg
Snack:
3 oz cheddar cheese
Lunch:
Carb Freedom Yogurt w/ protien powder
Snack:
sugar free jello
Dinner:
hamburger patty w/ cheese
cottage cheese
Snack:
sugar free chocolate pudding
Total for the day is:
Carbs 16
Protien 101
Calories 968
Fluids 40
I really need to work on the fluids that is the hardest part for me.
