Challenge Anyone? Sexy Seven On The Move!!!!!
Ok Ladies This is what I have!!!! I emailed Rae Ann and she is going to watch over us and give us guidance if needed. Here's who I have in the SEXY SEVEN : MYSELF, Theresa P, Helen Maree, Linda S., Linda Kay, Judy Ann, and Jackie Droschak. Maybe Lynn Spraque and Debbie Cox. Please let me know if I missed anyone. The challenge is still open . We can still make it elegant eight, naughty nine or Tiny Ten!!!! If you have any Questions, Please ask and Rae will answer. I asked her about Coffee, pop and home made cream of broccoli soup. Her answer was any cream soup as long as it is low fat. If you drink coffee it must be decaf and no pop. I am so excited about this challenge. Get to the store and get all your liquids for as you know the first week in basic training is liquid for 7 days. Copy Rae Ann's post if you haven't done so and put it somewhere to see daily. Maybe on the frig. Get weighted Sunday or Monday and start posting. Each day we will post what we ate and how much water. In 7 days we will post weight loss and start week # 2 of basic training. Same thru week 4. Good luck to all !!!See all lighter. Joanne
This challege both excites and frightens me. I am within 5 pounds of goal and have only lost about 2 pounds in the past two months. I knew the weight loss was going to slow down , but . . . OF course, I have NOT been trying at all lately. I still do NOT eat rice, pasta, potatoes, or bread. And, I have not tried anything with sugar. However, I do drink and tolerate beer. I kick myself every day for trying it. I was hoping I would dump and never be able to drink it again. But, that is not the case. I tell myself it is okay because I am drinking low carb/low calorie beer!! I have not gained any weight. Hahahahah! I hope I can stick to the diet for this challenge. And thanks ahead of time to all who are going to help me.
Judy
PS since the first week is liquids, can I still have the beer???? Just kidding!!!
Judy, Try to give up the beer for the 4 weeks. I bet you get below your goal weight. You will have to ask Rae that for it is out of my leaque. Just curious, what is the calories and sugar on the beer you drink and how many a day? I am going to try to stick to 1000-1200 calories a day. You have to use up 3500 calories to lose one lb. We will be keeping tabs on each other. Be honest and post the beer too if you drink it. Giving up coffee is going to be my hardest part but I am going to switch to decaf. We can do this. Lets start the new year out right.2006 is our year to shine. I'm going to keep thinking of that T/T in may. See us all lighter. Joanne
Judy>>>>
are you nuts.....girl......BEER is your enemy.......stop drinking it immediately.....you shoudl not be drinking any thing carbonated at all.....this is rule number one to the challenge....no carbon...it willdestroy your pouchie...now some may disgree.,...but it has terrible underlying side effects to the carbonation...plus there is sugar in beer...yes you may not have dumped on it but the sugar is not a refined sugar....you body will tolerate it but the carbonation is terrible for you...
Email me if you have any questions.....
Good luck on the challenge....it will be hard to do....but it willbe worth it...
Rae
Please help me understand why the carbonation is so bad? Other than a little extra air, but if we can tolerate that discomfort what's the issue. I've been drinking diet pop for a while now and I still continue to loose, although, like everybody else not as fast now. I'm down about 148-150lbs, depends. I seem to fluctuate a few lbs daily.

Laura......
Carbonation causes two problems....one the carbon does cause extra air...tolerating it is not enough....the first problem is that it expands the pouch while the air is in there,,,,,over time of continued use you CAN stretch your pouch...Maybe not much....but youcan stretch it....there is an unneccessary risk involved....
Second....it can stretch your stoma....while the air is in your pouch..it can put undue stress on the new opening to your pouch.....this is something that can happen rather quickly with out any discomfort or problems....you will not even realize it until you will be able to tolerate larger bites of food at atime...which is why the stoma was made so small..ti begin with...
I am glad you are losing....but pouch rules are so important....we were all told to stay away frmcarbon at the time of our surgeries...there was a reason for it...why cause undue stress...
Good ,luck on your goals...and continues success as always...
Rae
Judy, I am so glad to here this ! You have made my day. Girl we are going to kick some butt with this. Hang in there, Keep your head up and be proud of what you have accomplished !!! You will not only be lighter but BEER FREE ! Oh what a good way to start the New Year !!! Life is good !! Let's get it on !!! See you lighter. Joanne
well I am not a beer drinker...but at 3.5 carbs that converts to something like 4 tsb of sugar....not refined soit is not visable...but the carbs are bad..carbs...the 99 calories are all empty calories,.....
I am goad you are going to commit to stopping...I was more worried about hte carbonation any way...Pouh rule no no
Good luck
Rae
Well, it is Monday and the first day of the weight loss challenge, I weighed 220 lbs this morning and am 5 foot 6, have no idea what my goal weight should be but started at 420 lbs. Would like to lose 50 more but have been told by doctor and friends I will look terrible at 50 more lbs, so we will wait and see, I think I would be happy at 160 lbs. not sure. I started the morning with water, then had a cupe of fat free Yoplait yogurt, at noon another container of yoplait fat free yogurt and a container of sugar free jello am at a whooping 10 grams of protein so far, the soup I plan to eat for dinner is only 3grams of protein and I plan on using a cup of skim milk so that will add more protein, so I guess I better get some protein powder and supplement. Jo, what is yours called and where did you buy it, will pick some up during my lunch hour tomorrow. Thanks! Linda
