Hi Teresa

I hope someone has the answer to this and that I see that posting..
I too have fallen victim to the carb craving and given in.. can't seem to stop now that I have started. I realize I am doing it and then after feel huge guilt.. trying today to get serious again about protein..
Haven't gained any... just stalled. thankfully.. I wish us all luck fighting this demon and if anyone finds the answer shout it out really loud so we all know what to do..

I too don't have an answer, but I track my food intake on fitday and try to have more proteins than carbs. The week before I did really well with this and lost 8 pounds! WOW! Sadly this past week I didn't track for 3 days and fell victim to the Christmas candies and such, well I gained 3 pounds back this week. So getting serious about less carbs than protein again. It worked before and it will work again. Carbs need to be ed

-125 pounds!
I've fought the carb monster for the last 7 years. The only way I've found to get away from the craving is to *detox*. For me, that means 1 day of low carb liquids only. Then 2-3 of protien only foods. Days 4-5 I allow myself protien only foods along with green salads (with low carb dressings) and green veggies. After that, carbs don't look that great anymore. Still, day 1 is hard. Days 2-3 are beyond hard and days 4-5 really, really, really, really, really, really suck!
If I continue to let myself have "just a few carbs", the cravings keep going. If I do the complete detox, the cravings let loose after day 5. By day 9 I can sit in rooms with bowls of candy and cookies and not care.
I know that we are supposed to avoid all sweets and avoid carbs, but I have found that if you try to avoid them, then your body wants them more. I have found if you can do it in moderation it is ok. If i want a piece of chocolate, I have a PIECE of chocolate. I dont deprive my body of anything. I know that may sound bad to some people, but I am one of those people that can do just 1 of something. I can have a handful or a couple of chips instead of the whole bag like before, and i can eat a small piece of chocolate instead of the whole box. So far, I have not stalled or gained. I know everyone is different, and others may criticize me for eating these things, but I do value the gifts that my surgeon gave to me, and I find for ME that as long as I do it in moderation I am ok. It may not work for everyone, and some peoples will power is not strong enough to just eat one of something....just for me its worked so far. I have had NO hair loss, no dumping, and so far I have lost a total of 143lbs.
Good luck and keep up the good work
