Plateaus..dont I know!
I am so glad I checked in again with all the April losers. I too have been on a plateau for 2 months and problems with the sweet tooth. I have just had to tell myself that I didnt do this to gain it all back! I want to lose another 50 plus pounds and that isnt easy at this point. Back to basics and eating protein. I started at 330 and now at 238 (unless I gained that back) so I am close to the 100 lb loss. I notice that if you are lighter at the start of surgery, you lose less..So you 50 pounders, dont fret. It is just harder at the lower levels at first..then we all catch up and stop around the 200-230 mark. These last pounds are the hardest.

Ok, now I am getting ill. I started at 250, and am just barely under 200......... (sobbing loudly--- I want to lose 100 pounds too!) But seriously, you are doing really great. I have had a bunch of plateaus since surgery.......... I now get excited when I lose a pound. (On the main board someone was saying they had only lost forty something pounds in 7 weeks, and I am thinking .............at that point I think I had just lost 20 pounds...) But you guys are all passing me............. but that is great, you can all send me your clothes and I will be a clothes horse...........LOL!! natalie Congratulations by the way, you must be really proud. I think it is great that you have lost so much!

We all get frustrated with our loss, it is just the way we humans are I have lost 132 lbs, but since I still have between 53 and 68 lbs to go, I feel like I have been losing waaaaaay too slow. The thing that helps me feel better when I see "lightweights" closer to their goal than I am sooner is to "do the math."
We all do lose at a different rate, but the percentages -- the "math" -- is still pretty close. Here's my math -- I started out at 325 (day of surgery -- I don't count my 6 lbs pre-op loss), which is approximately 185 lbs over my PS goal weight of 140 -- so I need to lose a total of 185 lbs before I try to have PS -- I have lost 132 lbs of that 185 -- 132/185 is 71% loss of the total excess weight. Now, here's the cool part -- we are considered a success if we lose between 65 -70% of our excess weight. That makes me a success, even if I never lose another lb -- but I still plan on losing the rest!
Julia -- doing your math -- you have lost approx 100 of the 150 you want to lose -- that's 66% -- you qualify as a success already!! Don't get so caught up in the numbers that you forget what is important -- surely you already feel better. I bet at least some of your health problems are gone and heaven knows if you have lost 100 lbs, you LOOK better too! It will happen as long as you stick to the rules of the pouch -- for once in your life, YOU can be in control -- you have the tool.
We are all here to support each other, if you have a bad day -- suck it up and move on -- learn from it. And plateaus? They happen...unfortunately, they happen more than sh*t sometimes post-op I stall every 2 weeks or so, and will not lose for 2-3 weeks at a time, but I know this is what happens with me, and it just reminds me to make sure I eat protein forward and drink all my water, take my vitamins, etc. I didn't put myself through major surgery to fail, and neither did you guys -- WE WILL DO THIS! :D

Yes, I too have been at the 2 mo plateau.
But then I check the chart and tell myself to shut up. According to my physician's chart I have lost what I should have for January.
If u want to check it out the link is below..Maybe- it will lift your sprits. Ofcourse its just an estimate chart of weight loss.

Hello Julia, I know how you feel. I was on a plateau for 2 month. Not losing and inch or a pound. I felt like I was never going to get past 210.5. But I read through so many messages that were in this support group and followed what they said. Eat more protien and drink more water. Guess what??? It worked!!!!. I'm happy so say that I am now 198 and looking forward to being 151 some day. So don't lose hope. Your body just need to catch up to your weight loss. Trust me, I felt the same way and didn't want to hear anybody else success stories cause my body was stuck. But give it a little time and you will be on the losing side again.
287/198/151 some day soon
