My surgery was 4-11-05 I started out at 291 and now weigh 194. I am hoping to reach the 100 lb mark in the next week or two. Get up and walk away when you start picking or put your napkin in your plate so you won't eat any more. It is a bad habit to keep eating, but we all did it or we would not have had the weight problem. It is easy to see how some can backslide. Great to hear you are doing so well - I don't know how much I plan on losing, the MD wants 130 lb off. Heather

Hello Alice, I found that I was starting to nibble thru out the day and so what I did was make myself a protein drink and grab a bottle of water and have the water around when I started craving anything to eat. I am having a hard time with sweets myself and I finaly found a llow carb bar that is tasty and it takes care of the cravings. I am down 142 lbs. today. I droped a pound or two since yesterday morning. Ya for me. I know I should not get on the scale everyday but I do. But when I don't see it move I banned myself from it for a week or so and then it don't feel so bad. Take care, Tom

Well Alice, I'm not as happy with my weight loss as you. I had surgery on 4/18/05 and have only lost about 77 lbs in 6 months. I feel like a failure. So my other people have lost so much more weight. My start weight was 287 and was hoping to lose at least 90-100 lbs by my six month check up. Also I have come stands still in my weight loss.

Alice, Please do not feel like a failure. That is far from the truth. Everyone loses at a different rate. The more you weighted at your surgery date the faster you will lose. Ask your Dr. I am right on target with the chart. Check out your BMI and the chart for weight loss after surgery. Chances are you are on target too. Girl hold your head up high and be proud !!! You are far from a failure. We all have stand stills but that is normal. You will then see a good movement on that scale. Hang in there and take care. Can't wait to see you lighter and most of all with your head up and being proud. Email me your phone # if you want. I would love to call and talk to you on the phone. See you lighter. Joanne

Hi Alice please dont feel like a failure, youve done very well, there are those of us in the April baby group who are really struggling. I am almost at my 7 month date and have only lost 52 lbs. I know we are told not to compare, but it is very difficult, I know. Not many words of wisdom . Im afraid but know you are not alone in this. It was my dream to lose 100 lbs by xmas, so I didnt even have such fast goals as you, but that dosnt seem possible. I just hope that perhaps I may have lost 100 by my anniversay, but now that dosnt seem possible either. Oh dear! Im getting worse lol. cheer up. hugs from down under Helen
