Hi all, I was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue as me. I have lost 78 pounds so far, but my pants and shirt size has only gone from a 34 to 30. Whats up with that? Thanks! Brenda

Keep in mind that as we lose the weight that it sometimes takes the body a little time to lose the inches. Also, some clothing lines run bigger or smaller than others. Congratulations on your weight loss and keep up the great job!!! Teresa

I have a theory on this and I always have!!! I could lose 50 pounds and still wear my same size 18 pants on one end they are tighter and the other end they are looser but I could still wear the same pants!! Now that I have lost that 50 pounds and gotten past that stage my sizes change quickly I pretty much skipped past a 10 and went from 12 to 8 the smaller sizes are closer to eachother and the bigger sizes are further apart. I would always hear those skinny girls and you know which ones I am talking about say I just need to lose 10 pounds and I would have a whole new wordrobe and I am thinking if I just lost 10 pounds I would be able to breathe in my jeans!!! Now I know what those skinny girls were talking about, but when I look in the mirror I don't see myself as one of those girls!! The more you lose the more you will notice I know it is not really that much of a consolation but I am buying clothes constantly!!! Keep up the good work!! Jennifer 252/169/140ish??

Funny you should mention missing the 10s. I was wearing a 12 comfortably at the beginning of Sept when school started. The weight loss stalled for a couple of weeks. I went to try on some of the 10s I had bought and they are "too big???". Crazy, huh? I had to buy size 8s which is totally mind-boggling to me. I have 3.5 pounds to lose 'til I become a member of the century club. And 12.5 to reach goal. I think you are very correct in that the smaller sizes are closer together. Judy

Great theory, makes sense to me! I can't wait to test the theory out when I get to the smaller sizes. Thanks for the encouragement! Brenda

I read in your profile you were a little self consious about getting back to CURVES... Don't be.. Curves is the one health place I have always felt good in no matter what size I was.. they dont seem to be a judgeing place and a lot of heavy people go there.. NOW they are sooo supportive of me and I do more talking about surgery during my rounds than i ever did before. Don;t fret about the sizes they are just numbers... you will be in 18's before you know it!!! I Finally made it... have you tried smaller sizes yet??? Goodwill is the place to shop or start a clothing exchange.

I have kept up my membership at Curves as an incentive to get back into the routine. My goal is to go back before the end of this month. Size 18.......hmmm, I think the last time I bought a size 18, I was in middle school. We have a new Goodwill store here in town, I will check it out. Thanks! Brenda

Brenda, I honestly feel that it's the "super" sizes that do this!!! I started at 400lbs in a size 34, now I'm 288 and only wearing 28's, some 30's!!! So you're NOT alone!!! I think the higher the size the more room there is between sizes! You're still doing GREAT!!! 78 lbs is FABULOUS! No matter what size you're wearing Peace, Michelle
