OK, April 2005 surgery folks...how are you doing?
Congratulations on your great success! I am a slow loser, but have not been on a scales in almost 3 weeks, so I will go with the last known amount (201)........... down 49 total. I am in size 18........ down from size 24. Started out at 250, and was down to 245 pre surgery. Rita has stalled my exercise plan............ not in a go outside and walk neighborhood. Otherwise I am fine (I guess, I missed my 6 mo checkup and bloodwork!).
Hi Janice and everyone else. Glad to hear that all are doing so well. I am sooooo glad that I decided to have this surgery. I am down to 183 from a high of 279. Also, down from a 20 to an 8/10. I am tall at 5'9". I feel so great and am slowly realizing that I now look great, too. The skin issue is not really an issue with me, which is remarkable considering I am 54. I will have to have surgery if I want my bat wings gone, but not really much around the stomach. Four pounds to reach the Century Club and 13 to go 'til goal!! Ooooooh Hoooooo!

Hi Janice and everyone!
I had surgery on April 7, 2005. I started at 266 and am now down to 192. Loss of 74 lbs. I feel great, and I'm enjoying all the compliments I'm receiving about how I look.
I can pretty much eat anything (except sugar >14g) and I'm doing good at getting in the protein. I do need to drink more.
The best thing is that I have started to actually use my YMCA membership! Last month I took a cycling class and a HipHop/Salsa class. This month I'm doing a Core Strength and Flexibility Class and an Abdominals class. I sweat a puddle each time but I love the way I feel after working out. Prior to my surgery I'd have passed out taking any of these classes.
My husband is taking me to Ireland next month and I can't wait to walk those hills and climb those castle steps!
Good luck to all of you and thanks for the posts!

Congratulations to all of you! Wow we have a lot to be proud of!!! I too had surgery on 4/4/05 and I'm down 104 pounds since surgery and 147 total! I started out in size 5X or size 38 pants and 4/5x tops. I now wear size 2X or 22 pants and 1/2x tops!!!!! I am soooo happy that I had surgery. I've felt great no sickness at all!!! The only negative is the hair loss! But the Dr. says the hair loss is only temporary!!!
Hugs,
Teresa

I would like to drop another 20 by Christmas, I just dont know how I can do that but Im going to give it my best shot. Im upping my water and exercise and I know I need to up my food but I have basically lost interest in that. Its all a chore isnt it? Today is 10/14/2005 and although I still have another week till my 6 month anniversary, here's my update:
I've gone from 255 pounds down to 172, from a size 20 pants and 22-24 tops to size 12 pants and size L tops. I have my post-op appointment in early November and will probably be taken off my high blood pressure pill. I have more energy than I've had since high school, I'm 35. Although my hair is falling out, I'm confident it'll grow back.
THis procedure is the single best thing I've ever done for myself...
Hi Janice--Thanks for asking about all of us and BIG congratulations to you on being in ONEderland!!! Isn't is amazing to see a new first number on the scales??
I am 5'5 and started at 238...a 'lightweight' by some standards, but not for my knees and ankles. If I stood all day for work, I would be crawling or crutches the next couple of days. I wore 22's and 20's.
My weight now is 177, for 61 pounds gone. I am wearing 14 pants and 12-12 tops. I am blessed to have had a perfectly normal blood work-up and bone density scan two weeks ago. Only thing that doesn't agree is pork and sugar/fat combo--if I do that I am gaggy nauseous but not throwing up.
I gave into cravings for caffeine past 10 days (sweetened coffee and sodas) and GAINED BACK 1/2 pound.
I suggest that we all face the ugly truth that weight gain CAN happen. It certainly doesn't have to, but the choice is up to me with every bite or sip I place in my big ole mouth!! I remind myself every day that the bypass is a tool and I am the one who has to pick it up and use it wisely.
Best of luck and big congrats to all of us April-ers!!!
Hugs--Sunny
