I'm glad you are doing so well. Since I had my surgery, my husband has went from 210 to 184, and that's without gastric bypass surgery. I'm cooking smaller portions now. He's very healthy, I just needed to cook less

I had my RYN (Lap) surgery on April 18,2005. I am 5 ft tall and started out at 252 size 22/24. I am a slow loser ,I have been at 196 for a couple of weeks now (-55lbs). I checked the BMI chart and I am projected at the 65% weight loss due to surgery chart. I really want to loose 90-100%. I get in all my protien, water, vitamins etc and do exercise. I think with all the dieting I have done over the past couple of years my body thinks I am playing the "same old games" and the fat is holding on for dear life. I am off of my blood pressure medicine now and am wearing a size 18 pants and a large/x-large shirt. I have had to buy new clothes, which is addictive. I figure since I am not loosing quickly, I will be able to get some wear out of them before having to by more. Petite Princess

Hello ALL!!! I had RNY on April 4 . Weighing in @ 358 pounds ,5'8 size 32 pant and 3 and 4x shirt. I have lost a total of 121 pounds . Am now a size 14-16 pant and xl shirt. I have no medical problems. Take no medication and have been blessed by God in so many ways. I still have about 50-60 pounds to loose. I know I will reach my goal and encourage everyone else to the same. This surgery is worth it and my only regret is not doing it sooner. Congrats to us all !!!! Patricia

Hi, I have been shopping at our local rummage sales, and I've found lots of clothes at a great price.. That's just as addictive as spending real money. I'll spend the real money when I'm done moving.

I had my surgery on April 27th. I started out at 420 lbs, and I am now down to 309lbs as of this morning. I am still having troubled moments, but they are getting to be few and far between. I am feeling great, and starting to really look different. Everyone seems to notice. I hope to get to my goal of 200lbs by july of 2006, but if i dont make it i wont be discouraged. i see the weight i have lost so far as a HUGE blessing, and each lb more as an incredible accomplishment. people think that by having the surgery it is taking the easy way out, but they have NO idea how hard all of this is. it is a change not just in our life, but FOR the rest of our lives. Keep up the good work everyone, and I hope we all make it to our goal. anita b. 420/309/ 200-someday

Anita, You are doing great!! I had my susrgery on the 6th of April and I am at -109 pounds, also. And it just so happens that one of my goals is to lose 200 pounds by July, too!! I started out at 418. I am actively WORKING towards that goal. Noone better say I took the easy way out to me!! LOL I go to the gym 3-4 days a week. And I do water aerobics twice a week. That is what I call work, buddy!! LOL I, too, am feeling much better. But I am so sick of hearing peeps say, " I can really see it in your face". LOL I appreciate that, really. But when peeps start saying, " ooo your butt is smaller" LOL Then, I will be truly happy!!!!!!!LOL J/K Keep up the good works April babes!!!!!!!!! Toodles, Reneé 418/309/125 -109lbs!!

To date I have lost 91 pounds. It sounds so amazing. I like everyone else am kicking my own butt for not having this surgery earlier. I have contemplated it for over 2 years before doing it. But sure am glad I did it, except for the comments from my husband. My weight loss has slowed down to 1-2 pounds a week which is discouraging. I know I need to up my exercise, and add more protein but I am forcing myself to eat what I do eat. I work 3-4 12 hour shifts per week and am full time in the Masters program at WKU. I hardly have time to sit down! I have noticed that during the plateaus I loose inches instead of pounds - I know it sounds strange. It sounds like everyone is doing great!!! Hi all. Everyone has such great stories to tell. I had surgery on April 5,2005. I started at 345 and have lost 101 lbs. Went from 9 pills to 2 a day. Feel really great!!! Flew on 4 planes yesterday without a seatbelt extention. I went from size 32 to 22. I have been shopping thrift stores for clothing. Really found some great buys. I love the clothing exchange ideal. I went to one here in Delaware at a picnic for all taking this journey. What a great way for all to benifit. I got my hair cut today to blend in the new hair coming in after hair loss. Looks good and learned some new tricks. Keep the good news coming in. Lets all give each other a hand and put our heads up high and be proud. See all lighter. Joanne

Hi Janice, I had surgery April 11, 2005 I started out at 252 and my current weight is 169 -83 pounds. I was considered a light weight but never thought of myself that way. The last month I have only lost 5 pounds and for the 4 months before that I was losing 10 pounds per month. I would like to lose about 30 more pounds but we'll see how my body feels about that. I feel great and actually bought size small underwear from victoria's secret who would have ever thought?? I tried on size 10 pants at the mall last weekend and probably could have went with a size 8 this is by far one of the best decisions I have made and with 2 failed marriages under my belt my judgement is not the best!! LOL I love keeping up with all of you April 2005 alumni!!! Keep up the good work!!! Jennifer 252/169/140ish??
