My 5-6 month check-up !

Hello Gang ! Well I went to my 5-6 month checkup ( I went in a month early for my 6 mo.) My surgeon ask me to come in a month early so he could get some new pictures of me for the Gala he is putting on this next weekend for all his post-opies. But I am not going to be able to attend, I can't afford it this year but next year. I told him that I would be there, I don't care where I am at in the USA I will be there for sure. Heck I am still paying for bills that are comming in for the pre-op exams ... Its hard to live off of disability alone. Well, all my blood work test come back looking good. Before WLS my cholesteral was at 250 today its down to 129, I could not believe it ... The only negative news I got from the doctor was that to get down to at least 250 lbs in a years time, I need to do at least a hour and half of excerise per day 5 days a week....I said, "well I will give it my best." I plan on starting to go to the swimming aerobics class on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays at the local high school pool. That right there is a hour and half a day, then I have to make myself get out and walk everyday. Thats going to be the hardest... But I have to get real and go for it. Well I have to get some supper in now thats it for now. Tom 536/411/ 250 some day (before April 18th, 2006).

Tom, You are doing so great!!! I just started walking more and it has helped alot. I wish I could the water aerobics, too. We had a pool, but we sold the house!!! And bought a new house that doesn't have a pool. I am going to try your Doc's advice and try working out for an hour and a half. I only do about 30 minutes now. So, I will have to take it a little bit at a time. But i am going to give it a shot. I have like 196 pounds to go to get to goal. I would LOVE to get there in a year or year and a half!! That's awesome Tom!! You've already done SO well! I think as long as you are excersizing and being healthy, you'll do fine! You've already lost over 100lbs! I think 250 will be easy for you! Even if you can't get there in a year, it couldn't take much longer at the rate you're going. Good luck! Peace, michelle

Thanks you all for the replies, you all are doing great I have to add. I tried to walk for an hour today and I made it for about 25 minutes and went about 1.5 miles, not bad for me. It going to get easier the more I do it but thats the thing to remind myself to get out and do it every day. I can feel winter in the air here in Alaska now today... Its was nice and sunny but it was only 50 degrees out.... So it nice to get out and walk and not be so sweaty as it is in June and July when its in the 70's and 80's .... I figure when winter hits I will go walk in the local shopping mall. Thanks again for all the support... Take care. Tom.
