A solution to Spagetti
Hey there everyone! I would have just responded to the variety post below, but I wasn't sure if anyone would see it, since it's a few days old. I've found the BEST substitution for Pasta. Now, I LOVE pasta! I mean, BIG TIME! But it doesn't settle in my pouch... at all! So, I had to find something else.
SPAGETTI SQUASH!
It's SO good! Get a medium one, cut it in half. You can bake is (45-55 min, opening side down in the pan), or even microwave it! Whichever way you choose... cook it until the outside hull is soft enough that you can stick a fork in it. Use the fork to pull out the insides. It strings like spagetti! But it's a veggie and doesn't have all of the carbs and the heaviness of spagetti! I've made it with chinese veggies/chicken/low carb teriyaki, with Tomato and Meat Sauce, and with Cheese... and all have been great!
Happy cooking
Michelle
OMG Michelle! That sounds great I will have to try that. I also found that tofu is good with italian foods. I cut it up into small strips like pasta and ciookit in some cooking oil and add your favorite sauce. I was wondering if you could freeze that squash, maybe after cooking it ? That would be nice. Let me know if its possible or if anyone has done that ....Tom
Hey Tom!! OOOH, Tofu! I haven't even thought of trying it! I'll have to give it a shot! I'm not sure if the squash freezes well, but I have refrigerated it. It's fine heated up as long as it still has some sauce on it Otherwise it dries out.
BTW... where did you get your Century Club card on your page? I want one
peace,
Michelle
