Stomach Pains

Well, today I called my surgeon to schedule an appointment regarding my stomach pains. It woke me up at 5:00am and just got progessively worse. His office directed me to the emergency room because of the chest pains. The ER checked my heart and all is well in that department. But the liver and pancreas levels were elevated. So the ER dooctor spoke to Emma Patterson and she explained that it may be a pancreas infection or an ulcer. In either case I must see Dr. Hong tomorrow at 9:00am to have my pouch scoped and checked. Dr. Patterson also explained that I may need surgery to correct the part of the Y that connects to the pancreas. I hope that no surgery is needed. The only good thing that came out of this is that the ER doctor relieved my pain this evening with pain medication in my IV. So I pray that this is something that does not require surgery. I'll find out more tomorrow. Lara

Hi Linda, Thank you so much for your prayer. I think it worked already! This AM Dr. Hong was great and made me feel at ease right away. He will perform the scope tomorrow at 9:00AM. After he read the report from the ER, he explained that the enzyme levels were not that high and it probably was not pancreatitis. I have been pain feel today - but I have taken the medicines he prescribed. I believe it was the prayers from this board that really helped. Thank you again for your support. Lara

I know it's hard, but thy to stay calm. Do some deep breathing of meditation. If you are anxious, you might stress yourself it making it worse. Saying a prayer and sending out healthy and healing vibes...
