Poll: How much have you lost?
Hello Ladies and is there any other gents out there that had WLS in April...
Dang I feel out number here ! LoL.....
Well all you ladies are doing great, but I have ya all beat on the weight loss so far.
As of this morning, I am down 121 lbs. since my surgery on Monday, April 18th of 2005. I do have to say I have a ways to go but I just broke through a 2 week plateau last Sunday and I figured what the cause was. I was not getting in enough calories and protein per day so I started keeping track of what I was eating and came up with a figure that I was only getting in between 500 to 700 calories a day and only 60 grams of protein, so I sat down and figured out how to get in at least 850 to 1000 calories and kicked up my protein to 80 grams per day and BAM ! I got the scales to move finaly only 3 pounds, but Hey thats better then nothing I figured. Someone from another board mention that if your not taking in a bit more then your body is burning that the body is goes back to burning its reserves and the weight loss will stop and then you have to kick start again by eating just 50 -100 calories more and off it goes. Its worked for me. I was so scared two weeks ago when I did not see the scale move I went back to the basic liquid diet - 2 protein shakes and then 2 cups of split pea and bacon soup and drank 70 ozes of water and it did not do nothing so I up to 3 protein shakes and 8 ozes of cheese a day (spread thru out the day of course) and one soup and I am feelin so stuffed but I guess it works as I am losing once again.
Ok! sorry for writing a book... But I had to explain myself... OK.. Thanks you all for the support! I don't know what I would do with out you all and OH. YOU ALL ARE THE BEST.... WERE ONE BIG FAMILY...
Take care,
Tom
My surgery date was 04/26/2005 and to date I have lost 62 pounds. I was in the hospital for six days after surgery due to infection and developing pneumonia. I have had to have the opening stretched twice since surgery. I am doing fine now. In fact, I have never felt better. The best thing for me is the drop in my clothing sizes.
