Is anybody else exhausted all the time?

Hi All. I've lost 75 pounds as of this morning and I'd be jumping up and down with joy but I'm too darn tired. Is this exhaustion going around at almost five months out or is it just me? I'm taking all my meds and vitamins and iron, blah blah blah. I just want to lie down all the time. Wondering... Lynda

THANK YOU for posting. It started 2 days ago for me. I find myself fatigued and laying down on the couch in the afternoons. I just started iron again and upped the vitamins but yeah, I was getting worried.

Hello Lynda, I ran into the same thing last week, so what I did was up my protein up to 3 shakes a day for a total of 95 grams per day and then I added another vitamin, so I take not just two vitamins now three, then today I went to a support group meeting and I was told to take the 3 regular multivitamins and at least 1000 mcg of Vitamin B-12. So I went to GNC and picked up some B-12 and took one at 3 in the afternoon and what a heck of a pick me up that did? Here it is going on Midnight and I have so much energy..... I hope you get over the hump.... it will kick in again..... Tom

Lynda, I can totally relate. I could lay my head down and just pass out. Like the prior post I have upped my shake from 70 to 80 grams - it does make a difference - little by little - and I get the B12 injections AND take the daily sublingual now - I procrastinated on the sublingual for the longest but have just recently got in the habit of taking it and have felt a bit of a boost. I was told that just taking sublinguals isn't enough - it doesn't always absorb well and if you do both it is ok - what your body doesn't use it just discards, you can't overdose on B12 Our doc prescribes primacare prenatal pills and we can't double up on those but we have just recently been told by our docs that RNY patients aren't absorbing all the B vitamins as we are supposed to so now we have to take a B-complex vitamin too (at first it was just a B1 vitamin but then they found out that if you take just B1 you will knock all the other B's out of whack) and now I feel alot better - except for all my hair loss - otherwise doing better. Good Luck and don't forget to tell your doc and dietician - they may have additional orders for blood work to check your potassium levels and such - I heard that when the potassium levels start to drop to low that you will feel exhausted all the time and nothing you do makes it better. I'm tired as well. I also take my vites, exercise and eat well. So where is all this energy we're supposed to have? Pam

I think it was a lie. Along with the exaggerated sexual urges. I feel like I've been neutered. Lynda

I am so glad you posted this! I though it was just me. Yesterday I slept until 9:30 a.m., went to the living room, sat in the chair and slept until 5:30. I took my son to the store, came back home and slept on and off until it was time to go to bed then slept all night! I am now at work and having a very hard time staying awake. I hope this phase passes quickly! Brenda

It's so good to hear that I'm not the only one whose so tired. I've wondered why too. My blood work comes out fine and I'm on top of the vitamins, etc. I would love to know what "energy" feels like...it's been so long. I live in a suburb of Houston and our average temperature right now is in the mid 90's with high humidity and that in itself, zaps you whenever you have to leave airconditioning. I'm just waiting for our "winter", all 3 weeks of it. Hugs to all, Susan

Your three week winter sounds the opposite of our three week summer. Think of me here, 30 miles south of Buffalo, in January, February, March, April, May, and the first half of June. We'll likely be having blizzard warnings. Which I'll gladly keep, rather than trading for hurricanes or tornados. Hope you feel better soon. Lynda
