How much has everybody lost????
I'm down around 63. Our floors are terribly unlevel (base housing...typical. lol!) so it's hard to get a consistent reading but that's my closest estimate. I've gone from a 24-26 to an 18-20. I have on a size 20 skirt today and it's trying to be a low rider. lol! Another one almost fell off while I was out the other day. So I might be closer to an 18 or maybe less in skirts. Time to go SHOPPING!!!!! :D I think I'm going to try some 16s just in case they fit. hehehe!
I do feel like I'm losing awfully slow but that's my fault. I've been working out 2-3 times a week and it really needs to be 5-6...3 of those running. I need to get off my lazy fanny and WORK IT! lol!
Hello and congrats to all!!!! 4/20 is my 4 month anniv. I am down 72 lbs (thats including the 11 I lost b4 surg). My weightloss has slowed way down and my hair is falling out too. Because I started out at such a high weight (420lbs), I only weigh myself every 2 weeks at the drs office because they have a digital scale. I am almost down to where I can weigh on a regular house scale (341lbs at last check), but then I have promised myself even then I will only weigh at the most once a week. So, according to the drs scale last week, I am down 79lbs. Fortunately for me, I havent started losing the hair yet, but know it is eventually gonna catch up to me. my hair isnt really growing either, so i know its inevitable. I do still have trouble keeping foods down, but keep trying anyways. HATE the protein shakes, the aftertaste makes me sick. Congrats to all of you who have lost so much, and to those of you out there that havent lost as fast as you want...just remember, it will come off eventually, and its more that probably any of us had lost pre-surgery. dont give up, keep your eye on the prize.
Hey there!
I read your post and I too weighed over 400lbs. (410) to be exact. I made a reply if you can, read it. But really quick I hated the aftertaste of the shakes also so I use orange juice (diluted) a little and frozen fruits and protein 95 from GNC it has been the best for me so far yet I do not use the chocolates, cookies and creams, i use strawberry, banana, or vanilla. I do not weigh daily, I weigh once a month at my support group meetings. as of 7/19 I am down 91lbs and no hair loss yet. Keep up the good work and congrats to you.

Anita,
I just wanted to tell you I was on the heavy side too. I lost a lot a first and have slowed down on my water and protein shakes. I learned my lesson by getting dehydrated. The more you have the shakes the better. I have a hard time with shakes but a friend that sells protein samples and shakes she allowed me to get some from her. I like them better because there not thick. I can't do vanilla, chocolate or strawberry to milky so I tried some Nectars. I love them you just stir and drink. They taste so good. You can get them down fast and I havent' noticed an after taste. If you are interested let me know privately and I will give you her web site. She sells samples very cheap.
Keep in touch,
Christy
Hey gang, Well I was reborn on 4/18/05. Starting weight 287 and as of 8/24/05 I have lost a total of 70lbs and weigh 217. YEAAAAHHHH. I've slowed down sooo much but I feel great. People are starting to notice me. Still have about 62lbs to go to put me at my goal of 155. That's a realistic goal considering I am 5'8 1/2". I'll get there. My goal is to be able to fit into a loose size 12 jeans. Currently I am in a size 16 and some 18 depending on the cut of the pants. I'm happy though because it's a big change from wearing a 26/28. I really wanted to be one of those people who lost 100lbs in 6 months but if I don't lose 30 lbs in the next two months I'll still be happy. My goal for right now is to get under 200lbs. I only have 17 to lose and that will put me right at 200. I know I can do at least that amount in 2 months. Well, wish me luck and everyone keep up the excellent effort and hard work. See ya until my next post.
My surgery was 4/4/05 and I have now lost 87.5 pounds. This is incredible and I am sooo glad I did this surgery. I went from a sz 32 to a 24 and get wonderful comments about how I look from the teachers now that I am back to school. This feels so good! I was a bit unsettled this morning when the scale showed a 2 lb. gain since last week, but I will not panic. I know there are going to be some plateaus and little set backs. I have lost 2.5 lbs a week for several weeks now and hope to go back to that again. Congrats to all the April surgeries on their wonderful success.
