Does anyone feel normal yet?
Hi Everybody,
I had surgery 4-25-05 and am down 71 lbs. Down from 345 to 274, size 32 to 22/24. I was wondering if anybody feels normal again. I still have problems with nausea and can't eat alot of stuff, Thank God for protein drinks. Im sick of eggs and cheese. There are days when I can eat just about anything, then others where everything in comes up. PLEASE tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel. I would just like to feel good. At this point I dont care what I eat as long as I feel normal again.
Any advise is welcome!
Carol I had my surgery on 4-12-05 and it does get better. Just hang in there. I know some people are more sensitive to things then others but it will get better. Have you tried other things besides eggs and cheese? at this point I try anything except sweets. I don't even want to know what dumping feels like. It's all trial and error unfortunately for us the error part hurts and makes us feel sick. It will get better though. Hope this helps some have a great day.
Carol,
I am in the same place as you it seems. I had my surgery on the 27th, down 70 pounds and feel like crap most days *lol*. I can't eat hardly anything...no milk, eggs, chicken, tuna, pasta, rice.....pretty much most foods. I have been living on crackers and cheese, sunflower seeds and soups pretty much. I am really sick of feeling bad......hopefully it will get better soon!!!! Best of luck to you.

Hi Shree,
Read your profile and it sounds as if we are in the same place. I joined a gym and working out has helped me alot. I also have to get all my water in. I have been keeping a food journal and have noticed that my BAD days are always after low fluid days DUH!!!!. I guess exercise and water do help
Hi Carol, I had surgery on april 27. Have lost 66 pounds. I feel almost normal- you see it took me a long time to get used to the idea of only eating small amounts. For a while I was kind of feeling emotionally dissatisfyed because while I can eat just about anything that I crave, I must stick with tiny portions.
These days I am trying to have a more positive attitude- after all the weight keeps coming off, I look and feel better all the time, and I love buying and wearing new clothes!
Be sure to take your vitamins, keep hydrated, and eat the things that you can eat! If you dont eat enough it WILL slow the weight loss down- and you will feel like crap. It is important to keep trying new foods too, rest assured, you will get there. AND enjoy your newly LIGHTER body!
I read posts like yours and I feel SO bad for you! I'm 3 days ahead of you and I have no problems eating anything, never really have either.I'm down from 333 to 255 this morning. I have a friend that had surgery a month ahead of me and she's lost 100lbs but she had the same eating problems you do...it is normal to be that way in some cases. I think as lucky as I've been with being able to eat anything I've tried it isn't really the "normal" reaction so many have. The bright light is my friend is now able to eat more things and is feeling MUCH better about having had the surgery. I'm sure you'll get there the same as she did! Good luck and hang in there

I feel best when I stick with protein drinks, lo carb yogurt, crystal lite, and have 1 snack of 4 crackers and a slice of cheese a day.
I can eat steak, if it is thin sliced before cooked instead of the size I would have bought before surgery........... cooks quicker, and doesn't seem to get as solid that way.
