How many can you
Hello Alice,
LIke the last responder said it all depends on when the last time I ate.
But I have found out that if I don't want to throwup I stop at 2-3 ozes of pureed food or ice cream. But things like sf jello or pudding and even apple sauce I can do more as it slides right throw the stoma, thats unless I have ate something heavier before like meat or mashed potatoes. Darn it! Its that time to go eat. I am talking about food and its making me hungry!!
Take Care,
Tom
Pre-op 536 lbs. / currently 436 lbs. / goal 200 lbs.
I seem to be able to eat quite a bit more than most. 4-6 oz of proteins. I can get down a whole lean cuisine if it has pasta, half of one if It is meat and veggies. Now watermelon, nectarines, kiwi's, ect ect, I can eat quite a bit. I don't weigh my foods, I just try and make good food choices. I had a spoonful of sugar free ice cream the other day, and asked my girlfriend to take the rest to her house. It was delicious, and only 100 calories per serving, but I have better ways to spend those 100 calories. I notice so many of us are working so hard to find what things we can eat, we kind of lose sight of what we should eat. I have so much respect for all of you who have done this. For anyone who thinks this is the easy way out, should have spent the last 6 weeks in the hospital with me. Congrats everyone on you weight loss and your journey to better health. Just remember the choices we make today will be with you for the rest of our lives.
Richard
Hi Alice,
I can usually eat 2-4 oz. I am out 4 months from surgery. I have a tough time keeping up with as many meals as I should be eating because I am still not having any feeling of hunger. I also have to pay attention to eating slowly or I will puke it right back up. Bringing a book or magazine to the dinner table helps me out big time. Take a bite, read. Take a bite, read....LOL!
