Hi - My surgery was April 11th, and at my 3 month check-up I had lost 67 pounds. It's probably around 70 lbs now - I can't weigh yet on my home scale. I've finally cut down to 1 protein drink a day, and the only one I can handle is unflavored Unjury mixed with Crystal Light. Order samples if you're going to try protein - I can't tell you how many drinks and bars I've tried that others have raved about but to me taste like pure putridness! I try to get 70 gr of protein each day. I think we're all doing great - this is all such an individual journey, and we shouldn't compare ourselves to others. There's always going to be someone who's losing faster. All the matters is that the numbers aren't going up!

I had my surgery April 15, 2005 and weighed 262 that morning. Today is July 24 and I've lost 61 pounds. I don't drink protein shakes as I never found one which wasn't gross. I prefer the power crunch bars but I don't eat them every day any more. I'm able to get my protein in most days from real food. Good luck to you. Lynda

As you see I had surgery on 4/6/05, I started at 283.3 and as of Friday I weighed 226 which is a loss of 57 pounds WHOOHOO!! I get in about 80 grams of protein a day and at least the same in liquids (mostly water). I am proud of everyone!! Remember we are all individuals and all started at different weights so our losses will always be different. Everyone keep up the great work!!

Hi! I also had my surgery on April 4th. I started out at 347 and I weighed 269 this morning. My weight loss will go quickly some weeks and then it won't move at all for a week or two. I do find that when I'm not losing very much weight that upping your protein and water really helps! I use the GNC liquid protein (fruit punch flavor). You take 3 tablespoons and it gives you 19 grams of protein. It's not the tastiest stuff I've ever tasted but...it's a lot easier to swallow 3 tablespoons than an 8oz protein shake. Hope this helps. You're doing super on your weight loss!!! Keep up the good work!! Hugs, Teresa

Hi Janice I swear by Protien Delight http://store.bariatriceating.com/prdesm.html It saved my sanity. I was at a point where I couldnt get much protein down and then I found the above. I mix it with 1/2 a frozen banana, 3 slices of frozen peaches and 3tblsps of plain lowfat yogurt a little ice and about 8-10 oz of water. blend well and YUMMMY! Ive lost a total of 65 lbs in 12 weeks, and if it werent for the above I dont know what I would have done. If you cant tolerate all the fruit, just use the peaches. Its also really good if you use Raspberry Fruit 2 O as the water. Good luck CArol

Hi Janice, I had surgery April 11th and am down 54 lbs. Do you measure? Sometimes we lose more inches. For a while I was stuck and I measure once a month and realized I had lost almost as many inches as pounds. I agree with the poster above me I LOVE Protein Delite from bariatriceating.com My favorite is Vanilla Very Berry, if you like berries. My second favorite is Alpine Milk Chocolate. Third is Banana Yogurt. Fourth is Strawberry White Chocolate (tastes like nestle quick strawberry milk). And fourth is Tropical Blast. I also like the Unjury Chocolate. I am down to Vanilla Very Berry and Tropical Blast, I just ordered Alpine Milk Chocolate. I mix my shakes with Carb Countdown. If you would like a sample of the Vanilla Very Berry and Tropical Blast I am willing to send you a scoop of each, just shoot me an email. Hope this helps some! Gina

Congrads on your weight loss. I had surgery April 11th, 2005. I weighed 290lbs and today July 26, 2005 i weigh 205lbs. thats a total weight loss of 85lbs. The doctor took me off protein drinks in June. He told me i could get my protein in food. So i told drink that yucky stuff anymore thank goodness. I hated it. I have been lucky because i have no trouble eating things. So i eat meat everytime i eat. Thats where i get my protein. Good luck on your weight loss!!!!

I'm at 175 from 254. I don't do protein drinks, I get protein from my food. I do liquid calcium citrate twice a day, liquid vitamins once a day and b-12 once a week. I feel pretty good

I started at 281 and 237 at my 3 month post op appt today. I also love the protein delight from bariatriceating.com They have it on sale right now. The achiev one coffee drinks are great too... just like Starbucks but with 20g of protein. I don't do a ton of protein drinks anymore. Maybe 1 a day if that lately. Most of my protein comes from food now. I do 4 - 300 cal meals - about 1200 calories total.
