Hi Sonia, Don't worry about your weight loss - you are doing great. Every body loses at a different rate. As long as you are following the plan that your surgeon outlined, you are doing fine. The weight will come off. Just stick to the plan - drink plenty of water, eat appropriate amounts of the proper foods and exercise. I had my surgery on 4/5/05 and since the day of surgery I have lost 47 lbs. When I had my 3 month checkup with the surgeon a week ago, he was pleased with my progress. He actually said that I was doing a little better than normal. I'm happy that I have achieved what I have and that I feel great. I still have about 60 more pounds that I would like to lose. Keep up the good work - you're doing it. Hugs, Cele

I'm glad it's not just me! I had my surgery on 4/13/05 and have lost 50.4 pounds. Oh well, I guess it's better then gaining 50.4 pounds! Keep up the good work! Brenda

Hi! I know how you feel about wandering what is the normal weight loss for all of us. But after many kind e-mails from our wls friends I've finally come to the conclusion that we lose at different rates because of the length of our bypass, our metabolisms, medications etc... You're doing a great job and keep up the good work!!!!

Sonja, Dont compare your successes with others. Some people are heavier and lose alot at the beginning and level out. Some are slow but sure, and othes start out with a bang, plateau and then start losing again. Im 12 weeks out and lost 65 lbs. I consume 500-700 cals a day and 60-100g of protein daily. I work out 3 days a week and drink alot of water. The trick is to stay with it an exercise. My wt loss stalls to hardly anything if I miss just 2 workouts! Good luck Carol

i think it depends on how much you weighed in the first place. the more you weigh the more you have probably lost. average seems to be 50-60 pounds for 4 months. never enough when you are in a hurry huh.
