Hi... I am 3 months post op and have been lurking and reading. I have lost 50 lbs so far and feeling great. I am able to eat chicken..pork... fish shrimp...and keep it down. I want to try salad but my surgeon wants me to wait till 4-6 months post op. I was having a hard time taking my vitamins but i have worked that out. I thank God for this tool everyday.

You should listen to your surgeon but I do salad and have been fine. Been eating it since week 7 when I hit regular foods. I take the bariatric advantage chewable vitamins and they go down really well.

I couldn't get through this without salad. I have at least one a day. My gastroenterologist was surprised but if you can tolerate it, you can tolerate it. I also had corn for the first time this week, and it was wonderful. I can't do chicken or pork. They always make me barf. I finally got the Tropical Oasis liquid vitamins - cause I love the liquid Calcium Magnesium. They're not too bad. Congrats on your loss!

It was so surprising to find that I can tolerate salads really well. I also started eating them at about 7 weeks. Much easier to eat than so many other things. Still can't tolerate pork....and man oh man do I want some BBQ Ribs (SF BBQ sauce of course!).
