Well today is my 34th birthday, and i have lost approx 60lbs so far( (2 months post op). I am feeling so much better, and able to get around more and do things with my kids. I also notice that most of my clothes fit looser. People tell me all the time that they can definately tell that I am losing the weight, and tell me how good i look. I still am having trouble keeping some foods down, but just taking it all in stride and trying to make sure i get enough protein and calories. still getting the headaches too. so much happier now that i have lost the weight.

So for my birthday my husband asked me what i wanted to eat, and since im not having a birthday cake, i asked him for cheesecake. I know that is probably a BIG no no, but i really wanted a piece. i have been doing really good, and havent succumbed to temptations in the past. i have followed all my nutritionist advice and i drink TONS of water, but i really wanted something special for my birthday. I hope everything goes well, and no dumping, but i think right now, i wouldnt even mind the dumping as long as i can enjoy this one treat. its one time right????? its ok to have a special treat every now and then isnt it???? look at me trying to justify this to myself....lol.

I don't allow myself to indulge in sweets beyond a couple of sugar free candies that I use for laxatives from time to time. I figure that's all I need, let myself have some and ... They do have a wonderful low carb cheesecake out there, I've been tempted to get some. But for now I'm happy with my progress and am determined to stay the course

Oh Happy Birthday Girl! Doesnt it feel fabulous? I had my surgery here in VT on the same date as you. I have lost 53 pounds. I have not started to exercise regularly, but I am just natrually so much more active now. I say ENJOY the bite of cheesecake- BUT REMEMBER the sacrafices, pain and hard work that you have endured to get that 60 pounds off. It is ok to have cheesecake now and then. If you continue to sacrafice ALL of the time your likely to go off the deep end. We have all been there when it comes to food! Sacrafice most of the time.

Happy Birthday! Congrats on your weightloss. I've had a bite of low carb cheese cake made from splenda once. It was great. Ask your husband to try to find that for you. Then you don't have to worry about the dumping and you can enjoy a little more! Jen
