Hello everyone. I am 3 months post op and have lost 80 lbs. Which is great I am not complaining I am just kinda scared that this is it becuase for the last 2 weeks I have been gaining and loosing the same 5-6 pounds. I am not on my cycle or anything . It already passed. I have been eating the same things and excersicing the same. I am just beggining to get down on myself. If there are any suggestions I would truly appreciate them . I used to dump a lot but I have finnally gotten used to knowing when I am full so I no longer dump. I don't understand how some people hate food after surgery and I want to constatantly eat. I have to deprive myself a lot. It bothers me. I sometimes feel as If I am on yet another diet and I will once again fail. HELP..PLEASE... Patricia

Relax. You are just having a small weight loss stall while your body catches up. I had surgery on the same date and survived 5 weeks where I only lost 2 pounds. It sucks but it happens. Are you losing inches? Even during the time I wasn't losing weight on the scale, I dropped two clothing sizes. Even now, it seems that I haven't lost a lot of scale weight, but I've dropped from a 22 jean to being able to get a 14 on. Actually, right now, my cycle is coming up and the scale decided to let me gain 2 pounds. I guess I am starting to agree with the people that suggest throwing the scale out the window the first six months. Have a great day! ~Marra

Hi Patricia, Remember you can always go back to basics if you need to. Go to liquids and protein, very low carbs for a week or so. Assess what you're eating - carbs will cause weight gain or very slow weight loss whether you exercise or not. Make a list of things you're eating Lisa

This is pretty common... I found during my weight loss period that if I mixed up my diet/exercise routine that the weight would start to come off again. Make sure you get as much Whey protein in as you can. Good luck!

Patrica, Keep in mind also that if you are excersising alot that you are also gaining muscle as you are loosing fat. Fat weighs more than muscle so that may also be what is happening. I suggest thatyou speak to your surgeon sbout this as well and see what he has to say. You know after all that is what they are there for. I had just asked my surgeon why all of a sudden I was getting hungry I couldnt understand it. Part of the reason that you are also getting hungry is after the surgery, your stomach is swollen and the nerve endings have dulled. It takes a few months for everything to realy heal and start to act normal again. My Doctor said to stay on a routine, eat the same times every day, and when you do get hungry drink aprotien shake it will fill the void and keep you in check till your next meal. Remeber you didn't have your insides re routed for nothing. You can do this ! Just try and keep the goal in mind. Good Luck Your doing great ! Julian
