I was just wondering how long it is before you are able to eat corn following surgery. I know with corn no matter how long you chew it...its still comes back whole, so I was just wondering. with summertime here, I LOVE fresh corn on the cob and would love to try it but unsure. ANY answers???

There's been a little corn in some things I've eaten, no problems but I haven't eaten much of it. Corn used to cause me a lot of problems before surgery. Just chew it! You might want to try cutting it off of the cob and leave the tough part on the cob.

Anita, I am 12weeks out and I had an ear of Maryland Silver Corn with butter and Old Bay and it was to die for!!!!!!!!! You just have to take your time and eat it. Start with a small ear and that way you'll satisfy your craving and figure out what you can tolerate without wasting food. Good luck!!!!

I had corn on the cob last weekend, just a small ear though and it went down just fine...I chewed, chewed, chewed until there was nothing left to swallow and I didn't have any problems at all. Enjoy, but make sure your somewhere that if you DO get sick...you can run to the ladies room quick. Purrs, Dee~

I had my first corn today (I'm 11 weeks post-op) and it was just wonderful. I chewed and chewed it until I couldn't chew anymore. Corn on the cob... I just didn't chew too far into the cob and just got the outside of it. Good luck with yours!
