Hey all you Aprils! Any of you eating salads yet? According to my doc's eating list, salads don't come 'til week 12. I am at 8 weeks now. I am dying for a tuna salad! Judy

Hi Judy, According to my surgeon I can have tuna now with lite mayo, and even a boiled egg in it, BUT he does not want his patients having lettuce, et****il at least 90 days out. Tami

Your surgeon and mine both agree on the 3 months before salad. I have been having lots of tuna and chicken. Just would like the greens to go with it!! Judy

I started eating salads at about 7 weeks, just a little, but I craved them so much, I would just break up about a tablespoon worth of lettuce and put a drop or two of dressing and chew and chew and chew...gave me no problems.

That's exactly what I want to do. However, my 23 year old daughter watches me like a hawk! She and I leave for Cabo in a week. We will be staying at our all-inclusive timeshare for two weeks. This means it's all you can eat and drink, 24/7! I would love to be able to eat salads. I will call the surgeon today to see if I can sneak some in. Judy

Salads are ALL I eat. I've been eating salads for about a month now. I can't tolerate mayonnaise, even the fat free stuff seems to cause me problems. But I can do turkey, avocado, onions, etc. I buy the shredded lettuce and use mustard for dressing (too many carbs in fat free dressing) and it's great! Lisa

Hi Judy, I was early April and I have been eating tuna and chicken salads, along with luttuce and tomatoes. I even had a Subway salad with everything but cucumbers. This has been since mid-May. I was told after 60 days that I could eat anything as long as it is fat-free and surgar-free. Just introduce each new food slowly. I have had just about everything that I was craving so far. With little or now problem with anything except beef. Be patient, your time is almost here.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I just talked to the nurse at my surgeon's office and got the okay to eat salads with the baby greens. No iceberg lettuce 'til week 12. I'm off to Trader Joe's now to get my baby greens. Can't wait for dinner!! Judy

I have been eating salads for about 2 weeks now; since nothing else agrees with me I've got to try something. I can only handle about 4 bites though.
