Hi everyone!! I found a great cookbook that is user friendly and shows protein, sugars, carbs, etc.. after each recipe. All the recipes call for equal rather than sugar so it takes all the guess work out of the amount to use! It is called the 365 Favorite Brand Name Diabetic Recipes! ISBN #0-7853-2750-9. Now that we're getting closer to eating "normally" again I thought this might be helpful! Teresa

Susan Maria's book, Before & After, is also great. The recipes are all WLS friendly and each one sounds better than the one before it.

Thanks for the advice...I will look for this right away. I'm really frustrated at how few cookbooks are out there for us. I can tell you one I DON'T recommend: Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery: Over 140 Delicious Low-Fat, High-Protein Recipes to Enjoy in the Weeks, Months and Years after Surgery by Patt Levine. I bought this from amazon.com, after reading plenty of positive reviews. When I received it, I thought it looked great...charts at the bottom of every page, telling you exact portions based on where you are at in the recovery process, plus protein, sugar, calories, etc. BUT, the ingredients she uses are exotic and hard to find...not the stuff you normally keep in your pantry. They are also time/labor intensive. I don't have time to make a fancy meal each night...I want something quick and easy to prepare. This cookbook doesn't have that kind of meals.
