8 weeks post op
I went in today just to get weighed and I am down 46lbs since surgery. I dont know how much weight I gained while in the hospital, but from the weight that I was before surgery down the 46lbs. I cant beleive it. I am still having a little trouble keeping foods down. not sure if its because im eating too fast, or too much, or just because im still new to all of this. I just look at it as that is more weight than i have lost in my ENTIRE life, and I am sooooo happy that I went thru with the surgery. Just had to share with everyone. to everyone out there...keep your head up, and congratulations on your successes so far.
Hi surgery sister! I am a little behind you at 40 pounds of ugly fat gone forever. However, I am in much smaller jeans - size 20 to size 12/14. Ohhhh Hoooo! Hooray for us!
I am able to eat everything my surgeon will allow. No beef or lettuce yet, though. I can't wait for a big tuna salad. Of course, I will not be able to eat much of it. I find myself averaging about 500-600 calories a day. Not really sure if this is enough.
Keep up the good work and slow down with the eating. Hopefully that is all that is giving you trouble.
Judy
Congrats!!!
I too was having trouble keeping food down after they fixed my stricture.. I found out I had to slow down my eating. The elimination I used was I started to measure all my food in a double shot glass. Even when I went out to eat.. put it in my purse. Maybe u can try this method to see which one ur doing. It sure helped for me..
Now I can judge it better but when ever in doubt.. Out it comes..
Keep us posted and keep up the great job!
First thing u notice is food doesn't pass. For example. I ate a small piece of watermelon and swallowed a small white seed - that would of normally passed... Yet a week later I was vomiting all the time and it came back. ( HOW GROSS huh ) Then I got so bad with getting ill... I would drink a small sip of water and it would come up.. less than 3 mins down.. I was massively dehydrated and waited past the point of where I should of called my doctor. I also work at a medical facility.. I noticed my urine started to look "bad" and tested it for protien.. it went from 30g to 100g in 1 day.. this means MASSIVE DEHYDRATION. I got it opened back up.. it wasn't a bad expierence. Only a sore thoat the next day. I would slow down the eating and measure the portions. If that doesn't work and ur still getting ill.. CALL THE DOCTOR. Vomiting isn't natural when ur doing correct portions, eating slow and not drinking when u eat.
Hope this helps...
