How many calories?
I am a little concerned about my calorie content as of late and I am wondering what everyone else is following. I am almost 10 weeks out and had been averaging about 700 calories per day. The past couple of days I've fallen into a bit of a snacking pattern - out of boredom, and through fitday.com, I realized I was consuming almost 1,000 calories!
I am going back to tracking everything and trying to stay around 700 calories. When I was consuming only 300-400 I was losing my ability to concentrate and do my job, the increase in calories to 700 has helped that greatly. Thanks to South Beach diet protein bars, its easier to get those numbers up!
Does 700 calories sound like a reasonable amount to everyone else for this stage of recovery? What are you doing?
Thanks in advance for your input,
Linda
I am 7 weeks post op, and my dr reccommends about 650-700 calories a day for me too. If I dont get enough calories or protein in, I end up with HORRIBLE migrains. My dr told me you have to have more calories in order to burn off the fat. I was only getting maybe 300-400 calories in in the day, and he said that is probably why my weight loss had slowed down. I NEVER in my life thought I would have a dr tell me I needed to eat more...lol. anyways...700 sounds about right. Keep up the good work, and good luck on your weight loss.
Since I am losing very, very slowly I started to chart everything in Fitday. I discovered that I was consuming about 1000 calories a day. I was also told not to worry about calories at this stage. However, in my case I think I also need to limit my calories as well. This week I have cut my calories to 700 - 800 while keeping my protein high and getting at least 100 oz of no calorie fluids a day. I will have to see if that will increase my rate of wieght loss. If not I dont know what to do next.
Wish me luck,
Marcia
