Hi Heather. I am 8 weeks out and I too am having a problem keeping alot of solids down. I recommend that you call your Doctor. I am having an endoscopy done on Friday to find out what is going on. My Doctor thinks it could be a stricture. I didn't have any problem until i started introducing chewable foods. I don't feel sic****il about and hour or 2 after i eat. It seems the food is going into the pouch without a problem and i am not eating too much or too fast. The food seems to have trouble getting out the other side. Let your Doctor know what's going on. Good luck......... Cindy

Hey Cindy I had my surgery on the same day as you and I am having the same problems too. I see my Doc at least once a week now because he cant figure out why I vomit so much and why I'm still having pains. I see him this week again and I think he will do the scope on me too. Well Good Luck on your situation I literaly sympathize with you.

This is the time for strictures. Call your MD. I will be having an endoscopy too. Julia

You definitely need to see your doctor immediately. I can drink 8 oz. of my protein drinks and I eat 3 solid meals a day. I am never nauseated and I have NEVER vomited. My doctor told me over and over, "Vomiting is not normal. Call us."

I can eat any meat from steak to pork to ham to chicken. I had scrambled eggs my first day home from the hospital. Please make sure and call your doctor because from what I've read and seen from others here and in my support group, we should be able to be eating regularly by now.

I too had my surgery in April, and am having trouble keeping solids down, and protein drinks make me Sick . Its really weird because I can eat something one day and it make me sick, but if i try eating it again the next day...im fine. How weird is that. I do chew chew chew until my jaw hurts, and I try hard to make sure I dont overeat. I still get horrible migrains also. Dr said maybe that is because im not getting enough protein or calories in within the day. I take my vitamins every morning, and try to be as active as possible, but I too am tired ALL the time. I havent returned to work yet, but supposed to this sunday. NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO IT AT ALL!!!! I have really enjoyed spending this time off with my children. Oh well we do what we have to do to survive. I have lost 40+ lbs so far, so that is the good part of all this badness.

Hello Heather, I am almost 8 weeks out and I am fine. But, when I was 4 weeks out I thought I had a stricture. I went to the Drs office to see, but thank god it wasn't. Maybe its the type of portein you're drinking. Try this protein drink called Spiru-Tein and mix it with Edensoy. I find it to be easy on my stomach. Then again, I think I have steel in my stomach..lol.. If you had a stricture, you would have thrown up your food immediately. (my best friend had it after surgery) And maybe the solid foods that you are eating your body jsut doesn't want it. Before my surgery, I didn't eat red meat. But, after my 1st month, I wanted red meat and it stayed down! Fish couldn't stay down. So, try a little of everything (one at a time****il your body can keep it down. Also, I couldn't keep plain water down until I put lemon juice in it. The body is an amazing thing. Everything I use to like, I can't eat anymore. Have you tried crabs, shrimp, or even lobster? Believe it or not, i could eat those things before I could eat chicken! Please let me know it that protein drink worked! yours truly, Adilah Abdul-Jabbaar
