I am 7 weeks post op and have decided that my daughter and I are going to go to Curves for Women. Is there anyone else who has tried curves and what type of results have you had or what type of exercise have you seen the best results. Thanks a lot. Kimberly

I checked it out once... They have different machines in a circuit. You do each maching one minute then walk in place for 30 seconds and them back onto the next machin for one minute. The machines vary from bicycle, stepper, arm machines...etc. It is pretty easy...and you work out for 30 minutes. I didn't think it was challenging enough....but a lot of people I know have gone there and seen results. Good luck.

Curves is great and my surgeon and his partners highly recommend it. I do, too. You can work out as hard as you like. Some who visit once think that it is too easy for them, but in actuallity it can be quite a workout. The faster you move on the machines, the harder it gets. Everything works on hydraulic resistance machines. The more you put into it, the harder the workout. I was just released on June 1st to start exercising again and return to Curves. It is so good to get back to it. And - Curves is fun. My curves has the "3 M" rule - No MEN, no MAKEUP, no MIRRORS. Check it out. Judy

Yes, I can tell you, I have been there. For me, being a short person of 4' 11'' it was hard for me to get on most of the equipment. I went for one no pay week and then I gave it up. Most of all the ladies that was there that same week, didn't go back either. I did like the club owner, she was great. That was my experience. No harm in you and your daughter going there and checking it out. It may be just the place for the both of you. Only women! Tanning Beds! Good Luck.

Most Curves will let you go a few times at no charge to see if you will like it. Just give them a call or stop in. Brenda

Much like Crystal, I stopped going because it wasn't challenging enough for me. I thought after awhile the circuit got old.. I did lose 25 lbs in 2 months tho when I was on Slim Fast and going to Curves 3 days a week. I also didnt feel like I fit in enough. The Curves I went to had a lot of older women in it and they tended to not talk to me, as I am 1/2 their age or more. I think its easy and a good place to start out, but im glad i joined a regular gym.

I've been a member of Curves for about 1-1/2 years. I just got clearance to return. My doctor did warn me that I would outgrow it, and I had heard that before, but I think it will be enough for me at least through the summer. My Curves has 13 different machine which you use for 30 seconds at a time. In between each machine is an exercise mat which you use for another 30 seconds to keep your heart rate steady. Every 8 minutes we stop and take our pulse. You can also get weighed and measured once a month at no additional charge. The one I go to is great. The staff get right in there and exercise with us. We do trivia once in a while too. I have gone to other Curves where I didn't feel part of things at all. Mostly because I am just visiting and haven't met anyone. No matter which one I go to though, the music is great, and it realy gets you moving. I can't wait to start back tomorrow!!
