Hi, I have had a had time holding down my food since my 2nd week. I found some gas x in the cabinet and took one and I havent lost anything yet. I waited about 10 min. after taking it and ate some watermelon and it's still in there. yeah!!!!!! I only took a few bites, but I couldn't do it before. so now before I eat I will take a gas x pill. You can take up to 4 a day. It seemed like everything that I ate would get hung in the back of my throat. some things would go down but most wouldn't. So I hope this will conntinue to work. Thanks for listening.

Glad you're better, but please let your doctor know what you are doing and how you are feeling. I just had a stricture repaired, and the symptom...throwing up all the time. I still do it about once a day, oddly enough, I think for old times sake! But I am now getting food in. Watermelon was my savior during my starvation period. I could always eat it and it gave me lots of hydration. We had the same surgery date and my doctor said stricures often occur 5-6 weeks after surgery. Best of luck to you. Mary

I agree with Mary. I just had a stricture fixed too and the difference is amazing. I can actually eat and keep food down!!! I would suggest talking to your doctor as well. That doesn't seem quite right.

Judy, I too had a puking problem, and it was related to having a stricture. Be sure to inform your doctor about the problem. My stoma had almost closed entirely to where I was even puking water. Gas X may be a temporary solution, but if it continues, call your doc and be sure tell him/her about it. D D
