Hello everyone I went to my 6 week checkup and I am down 40 pounds yea I am soooooo excited no complications so, far and I pray it stays that way for me. I am on regular foods now but, I am a little nervous so, when I eat I try to stay with cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, cheese does anyone have any other safe suggestions I have tried a little lettuce with cheese for my protien and light Miracle Whip for my dressing it was good and I ate a meatball all chopped up not bad either but, i was scared to try the spaghetti itself. Well, talk later

Shawna, Good for you..... keep up the good work! As far as food is concerned.... I am really liking Healthy Choice Country Vegetable Soup and Healthy Choice Bean and Ham soup..... very easy to get down!!! I am also eating alot of refried beans with sprinkled cheese on top, a scrambled egg with cheese on top, yogurt with Post Grape Nuts sprinkled in it.... (if you let it set for a few minutes the Grape Nuts soften......) I am also indulging in alot of fresh fruit.... banana's, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, melon, apples (skin removed).... just remember to chew real good!!!! I tried spaghetti the other day.... I cooked angel haired pasta and cut it up real fine and I had no problems... I uesd plain traditional Prego for the sauce. Oh...another good thing is string cheese...... I hope this all helps.... or at least gives you some additional ideas.... if you have any other questions you can contact me. Take care, Nikki

Congrads on the weight loss. I just went for my 6 week check up too thursday and i have lost 45lbs. I can eat anything. I have no problems with food but i did have alot of problems with my protein drinks and the doctor said i dont have to drink them anymore that i can get my protein in food since i am eating so well. I wish you lots of luck on your weight loss.

Congrats on the good checkup. I'm almost 7 weeks postop now, and had lost the same at my 6 week appt. I've been adding foods without any problem. Cheese and crackers, sometimes with ham, have been lunch for the past week. Last night I had pizza (thin crust, light cheese, from Domino's). Today I had half an english muffin with muenster cheese. Later this weekend I'll try some turkey bacon and salad. I've been tracking fat and protein grams now that I'm eating regularly. Good luck!

I'm on soft foods (5 weeks). I've been eating scrambled egg with cheese, soup beans (in the crock pot), mashed or baked potatoes, cottage cheese, townhouse crackers with cheese (like little sandwiches), pasta with tuna and fat-free miracle whip, and banana. I'd try more meats. I've had meatloaf and pot roast recently. Both were very soft and I chewed like crazy...they stayed down. I had a piece of a pork chop last night. Again, I just cut it small and chewed like crazy. Happily, I've only dumped once and I've only thrown up once. Sadly, I've been at -32 pounds for two weeks. I'm told it's normal...but I'm impatient! Good Luck!! Cindie U.
