WHY??????

Hi everybody, I am 4 weeks out today and boy have I been sick. First it was the jp tube and the g tube. They are out now, but I am having problems holding my food down. My nutritionist says eat 6 small meals a day. My pouch will not even hold 3 little on 6. What is the pink med. for that they gave me to take when I left the hospital. I am suppossed to take it 3 times a day. Is it to help my pouch heal or what? It is called Carafate. I can hold down crackers really well. The protein drinks make me sick just to think about them. I hate that other people are having similar problems cause I know how awful it is, but I am glad to know that I am not the only one that is doing this. Does this make since. I don't want to offend anybody by saying that, it is just I was so afraid something bad was wrong, then I see that others are having similar problems and it kinda calms my fears. Judy, Wow! I'm sorry you are not feeling well and can't keep much down. I never got any pink stuff. All I take is my vitamins and Prilosec. Tomorrow I start my Actigall twice a day. If I were you I would call my doc and ask about the Carafate. Maybe you were given it because of your other problems post-op??? Keep the faith and I am sure things will improve. Hi Judy, I'm almost 4 weeks out as well. I got Carafate while in the hospital, it is for acid reflux. Any time you EVER have questions it is imperative to talk to your doctor's office. The nurses and other staff are also really knowledgable. I haven't been vomitting, but I have had no appetite at all since my RNY, and week 3 and 4 I've felt nauseated alot. I'm having trouble getting my fluids and proteins/shakes in too. But we have to remember it is still just 1 month out. Have you talked to your doctor about the vomitting? Most important to be sure to get enough fluids and be able to keep them down. If you can't tolerate even that, very important to call MD right away. Good luck!
