Where is your doctor?

Please do not take this the wrong way. I totally understand the need for obesityhelp.com and have been helped by the many individuals that hang out here, but I have a concern! OH gives a warning that says "This board is not to be used to give or receive medical advice!" This is a great warning statement...it really is. So many times I see posts that are asking for medical advice. Our bodies have undergone major changes and it is very important that we follow our doctor's program to the letter. Every doctor is different and every surgery is different because every patient is different. Let me give you an example. Today, I met with my dietician and I need to start a calcium supplement - Which one should I take! Innoncently enough, someone may recommend Viactiv because it is like a chocolate treat and if I am not paying attention, I would ask my wife to pick me up some and begin taking them. For me this would be a problem because Viactiv has Vitamin K which fights with my coumadin and makes my blood thicker than it should which in turns put me at risk for a blood clot and possibly death. However, because my dietician knows me and knows that I am on coumadin, reminded me that I cannot take Viactiv! Just my plea for everybody to be careful what we ask or what we offer!!! Amen Dave, I always thought it so weird how people offer up medical advice and how willing some are to take it.
