FINALLY feeling better - 5 wks out - how are you doing?
Wow, what a difference a week can make. I am finally starting to have a little energy to get through a day. I can't believe the change since I added the iron and calcium to my diet. I also quit the protein powder and skim milk - both made me feel sickish. Thankfully I'm eating enough other things to get at least 40 grams of protein. I'm hoping to find a new shake that won't make me sick or a protein bar to get the grams over 60.
I sure hope this is a sign of things to come. I'm thankful for this tool, but for the last 5 weeks I've felt like total crap.
How are the rest of the April's feeling?

Linda, I am so sorry you have not been feeling well. Try Pro-Complex protein powder from GNC. I mix two scoops with water and ice chips and blend it for a minute. DELISH! And - it has 55g of protein. My daughter also loves it with 1/2 banana and low fat milk. Actually, my ex loves it too and he used soy milk with it. It comes in straw, choc, van, rocky road and a few other flavors, I think.
I feel wonderful at almost 3 weeks out. I think I will return to work next week, teaching junior high, even though I can stay home 'til the end of the year. I'm just getting stir crazy being at home!!
Hope you continue to feel better.

linda ,
I had surgery on 4-18 and last week was heck!!! i was really sick most of the week but like you this week i am feeling sooo much better! I jsut hope it continues this way for a bit. and i hope i can get the numbers on the scale to go down farther that s the frustrating part when it doesnt move for 2 weeks !

I am 4 1/2 weeks out and sounds like I have felt about the same way that you have. I too am starting to get alittle more energy through the day.
I also felt like total crap the last 4 weeks and was starting to ask myself what the heck did I do to myself? I never dreamed it would be this hard!
I also hope I can find a protein bar that I like to make up my protein, because for a long time I do not want to drink any protein again, unless necessary!
I am thankful for this tool now that I am getting some of my energy back.
I do have a ways to go though, but what a difference from before.

It will be 6weeks post op for me on Friday. I had a stricture repaired a week and 1/2 ago. If its not yogurt or string cheese or Slim Fast my body seems to hate it. Especially eggs, whether just the white or the whole thing.
I get my fluids in but with the protein I get about 35 grams a day in. Eating is not my favorite thing to do. I see my Doctor/nutrionalist on Thursday; I'm sure they will tell me to just be patient and time will heal everything.

Hello Linda
I am 2 months post op and had trouble with the protein drinks until I bought a Magic Bullet and all my protein drinks are so delicious now. I
want to drink them all the time. I use OnWhey Protein Drink with FF milk, Splenda, and crushed ice and blend it up and it is soooooo Good!
Best of luck on your new journey... Linda M - Texas
Hi Linda,
I had surgery on 4/11. I started drinking hood carb countdown chocolate milk, it has 12g of protein in 8oz and it tastes good !! It is something different, I also mix up protidiet drinks you only have to use 5oz of water and it is 15g of protein I get that from my surgeons office and they have fruity flavors. I am having issues with food and still struggling to get my protein and liquid in daily but being back to work seems to help me stay on track!!
