Can I eat too much?
I have my five week appointment with my surgeon this coming Friday.
I am driving myself insane thinking my stomach is already screwed up and stretched. I read post from so many people about only being able to eat 2 oz and compare it to myself who can eat so much more. I can eat a whole egg plus a package of instant grits for lunch. I can eat a cup of soup. A whole 6 oz container of yogourt. No discomfort. I can't even feel where my stomach is located. If I haven't eaten in three hours, I get a headache and know I'm hungry but I haven't felt a growly tummy.
Is anybody experiencing this?
I keep thinking something is wrong or I'm the one where this surgery isn't going to work.

Please do not feel bad. I am the same as you. I thought I was the one it was not going to work for too. But remember this. Yogurt is considered a liquid. I can eat way more than 2 oz at a time too, but not the first couple of weeks. Now that I am healed up, It is much better.
Please do not worry, you will not fail and you will do great at this.
God Bless you and your journey to health

I am with Rae on this one your new pouch is like a colander the liquids go through and the solids stick. Anything soft you will be able to eat more of especially if you are taking time to eat!! No growling either, have you tried anything like a bite of chicken?? If and when you do you will notice a big difference !!! 2 bites will do it for you!!
R U working with your dietician or surgeon? Make sure you are following their guidelines and do not vary from their program. Post op is a full time job and for me, sometimes I wonder if I had the surgery.
Slow down when you eat so that you can begin to recognize when you are full. Everything will be alright - if you are eating wrong, your body will tell you. Just make sure you are eating what they told you to eat, and how they told you to eat it.
You will be alright!

I have the same fears that you do. I have no problem eating anything. When people say that solid food is different... not for me. I have no problem with chicken at all. Losing weight more slowly than others has been a frustration. Clearly everyone is different after the surgery. We just need to go easy on ourselves and trust things will work out.
