Stall already? any1 else?
My surgery was 4/20/05. I made some bad food choices last week. But still, have not gone over 400-500 calories a day. The bad choices I made were only a few bites. For the past 6 days I have been STUCK @ 197lbs. I lost 11 lbs before surgery and 19 lbs since. But for the last 6 days no loss?!?!? Has anyone else stalled so soon out? I am drinking my water, getting my protein and excersizing.

First don't panic. Reading the main board, I got the impression that quite a few people stopped losing for a brief time a few weeks out because their body figured that something drastic happened and is saying "what the heck did you do to me". Six days is not a long time - it could be related to your menstural cycle. Also don't weigh your self everyday. I decided I would weigh myself around the same time Saturday morning and that was it.
THIS IS NORMAL!!!!
I stalled 2 weeks after my surgery that lasted for 2 weeks. Even gained 5 lbs my 4th week. My body was just fighting me. I was losing so fast and it didn't know what was going on. So it went into 'protection' mode and held for a bit. But I've been losing steady ever since.
Post-ops have told me that stalls are NORMAL and will happen often to us in our journey. So just be patient, hang in there and know you are doing the right things!!

My surgery was 4/13/05 and I am experiencing the same stall right now. It was so nice to read your post so that I know I'm not the only one. The scale is going up and down within 4 lbs - for the last two weeks. I am starting to feel like I never had surgery and this is just the same old weight loss struggle.

Hey, PLEASE do not think I am undervaluing the importance of your post, but it is late at night and my fingers are tired. I responded to Linda B's post of today 5-14. I would echo most of that to you and agree that the scales have to go. I have been yo-yoing with 3 pounds this past week and I was scolded and I got rid of the scales. I think it would do a lot for your mental health as well. BEST of luck to you. I know you are going to do well.
Hang in there and keep me posted about your progress

Christy,
I have to say... I read a lot about this before surgery and my thought was, "Well, I won't freak out like that because I know it might happen" or "They must be eating wrong" or "I am not going to let that happen to me". Well, now it is, and I'm freaking, and I'm eating right. LOL You are NOT alone!!! I've lost 32lbs since surgery on 4/18/05. I've been VERY lucky!!! But for the last 2 weeks I've only lost 2lbs! So it's frustrating. But you get stuck because your body freaks out from the sudden change and thinks your starving yourself. So it conserves fat and calories to keep you "alive" longer. Once it realizes that you're not going to die you'll start losing again. At least I hope so, because this surgery would be a lot to go through for 30lbs!!! GOOD LUCK HUN!!!
Peace,
Michelle
