It took me quite a long time. While I only once (the day after I got out of the hosp.) I still have had some episodes of what I call pre-barfing. Kind of like when you get a ton of saliva in your mouth and you have to get rid of it b/c you feel as if you're going to barf but then you don't. In the beginning I tried to stop eating while still a bit hungry (I was on pureed). This way I knew I wouldn't feel sick, bloated or nauseated. Nowadays, with the exception of those few pre-barfs, I've pretty much figured out when I'm just about full. Give yourself some more time. I think once your body adjusts you will figure it out. Best of luck, A _____________________________ April 11, 2005 -- Duodenal Switch -- Dr. Alfons Pomp New York City, New York Starting Weight: 256lbs / Starting BMI: 43.9 May 10, 2005: 237lbs / BMI: 40.7

I don't feel full either most of the time. I just know when to stop eating. You'll find you won't feel hunger most of the time either. Your stomach may rumble but one bite of something will stave off that. Amazing!! Hugs, Trisha -56 lbs
