Headaches anyone???
I am almost 2 weeks post op, and last night I got the worst headache of my life. During the day I had some blurry vision as well. Is this a sign of something???? and when we get a headache, are we able to take stuff like tylenol? I also threw up for the first time yesterday. I think it was because I over ate, or else ate it too fast. tried grits, tasted soooo yummy, but thats what came up. need some help please.
Hi Anita
I am 3 weeks post op and have had the same headaches. I am suspecting the artificial sweeteners. I an on a full liquid / puree diet so I made sure one day I did not eat anything with AS and the headache was gone. Really limits what you can eat thought. I will be talking with my surgeon on thrusday about this.
I would give your doctor a call and ask what meds he wants you to take for the headache.
good luck

I've been getting them, too. I'm 3 weeks post-op. I've been taking what the doctor prescribed for my surgery pain: 2-5 tsp liquid children's tylenol. I haven't thrown up post-op, but pre-surgery, my migraines have been bad enough to make me throw up. You should probably make a phone call to the doctor though, just to be on the safe side.
Hi Anita,
I'm actually 12 days post -op and I haven't experienced any headaches as of yet, but my dr told me that I could take tylenols just to be sure that they were the capsules. Also as far as sweeteners go i'm using splenda and so far so good. I have thrown up yet but I have had a couple of instances where I ate too much I knew boy was that and miserable, uncomfortable feeling!! I'm on full liquids eating things like scrambled eggs, cream of wheat, mashed potatoes, sf pudding, applesauce, etc. Good luck to you and hope this info helps.

I only get headaches when I eat carbs. I've been taking Tylenol (regular caplets) with no problem.
I'm finding out pretty quickly what I can and can't eat. Like immediately. Tonight I tried meatloaf. It was 95% fat free but.. didn't matter. The pain hits within a couple of minutes and I'm in the bathroom. So it's not always how fast you eat or how much you eat, sometimes it's what you eat

Headaches can be a sign of dehydration. You getting enough water in?
