1 week post op..need advice
Hi Kriss,
Keep your thought on WHY you had the surgery. I'm 3 outs, open RNY, and yes I too was getting tired of luquid. But I am following just what the Dr. and nutritionest has told me to do. I keep looking at the before and after pictures and also see how far I have come in just 3 weeks.
The best advice I can give you is, turn off the TV go for a walk or take up needle work, cross word puzzles, anything to get your mind off food.
Good Luck
Louise
Hi Kriss,
I had my surgery on April 25th. I am 3 weeks post op. I thought I was crazy when I was having dreams of completly gorging myself with pasta dishes and steaks. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one. I had the roux n y done. All I can tell you is that once I started on my full liquids I felt a little better. Al though I cant say that I was hungry when I was on fluids. I still watch Food tv Emeril and stuff and look at food that I used to eat in Abundance ! Now I just look at the food amounts I am able top eat now and I look forward to being thin again. Thats what keeps me going even in those times I look at some foods and say I WANT ALL OF THAT ! I Hate being this heavy and I went into surgery because I have really just had enough of being sick and tired. After surgery I drove me fiance crazy all 5' 7" 103 pounds of her. I drove her crazy because for a while I thought to my self, OH MY GOD What did I do to myself. But I went back to the reason why I did this. So, yes it gets a little better when you start on more solid foods. But when you start to get hungry, or feel like you are gonna scream. Remember your goal, remember why you did this. Keep that in focus. Its been helping me.
